Lightbulb Chinese Fire Bellied Newts For Sale - Glasgow

Hi,

My Chinese Fire Bellied Newts (Cynops orientalis) bred this year. I currently have about 29 fully morph'd ones for sale (and the adults are still breeding).

They vary in age - the eggs started being laid in December / January and they started to metamorphasise March onwards.

They are in excellent condition and eating well.

Would need an escape proof tank at this stage, some water and land and not too strong a current. They are happy at about 18 - 22 degrees Centigrade.

Also best to house them with the same type of newt - frogs and other fish or newts can attack them.

Anyone interested ? I wont post them but could deliver locally at cost of petrol. I am in Glasgow.

Will sell to good homes for £5 each or 5 for £20

Alex

Default Photos - hope this works

Hi there,

Good luck with the boss

They are eating mainly live bloodworms at the moment. But tubifex or frozen would be fine for them too.

I am new to the forums so I hope these photos work ok... fingers crossed...

Any other questions just shout and thanks for your interest

Alex

Default PS

PS These photos are from a few months back but some of the recent morphs are that size and some of the original ones are bigger. I will try to get some more up to date photos too.

They are real cuties and the adults look great too - hang in there and keep trying - hopefully you can win her round cos I really want them to get good homes rather than pass them onto a pet shop (which scares me to be honest).

I've bought a bigger tank so if I cant sell them immediately at least I can home them for a bit longer (while you work your magic).

Oh and there's 30 now .... not 29 ...... and ...... if you fancied a challenge and there were still some available I'd maybe throw in an egg too ... and Im not talking hens here .......

Wow that would be awesome. I used to have these about 15 years ago, crazy little things kept escaping. I am currently nipping my wife's head I'm sure she will give in soon.

Cool

Keep at her - you'll wear her down eventually Im sure .
Its been amazing watching them develop from tiny eggs carefully covered in folded over plant leaves - that just look like a seed in a clear round tiny ball, to developing within the egg, bursting out and looking like a slither with a yellow stripe that cant stay upright, then mad gills and front legs appear ... and then the back legs.... and toes ..... until they finally (takes a while) they lose the gills and come out the water.... its been really really fascinating.... then once they are older theyll stop the escape attempts and return to the water full time..... theyre not there yet mind you.... and all gaps in the tank lid are stuffed with sponge at the moment so theres no gaps....

If you and the boss even fancy coming over for a look (no obligation at all) let me know .....

Default Fire Bellied Newts

Hi,

I'm interested in buying a couple of newts. Are they still available?

I have been conditioning a tank for them for a couple of weeks but the local pet shop hasn't been able to supply any newts. I live in Lanark and could arrange to pick them up.
