a friend of mine will be aquiring some

Nectophrynoides vestergaardi

not that one but similar

as far as he knows these are not readily available in the uk.. or even the states... these will be being imported from West Usambara Mountains, Tanzania. where they only live in an area around 5000 KM2.


price is to be announced but as a rough guide price.. same range as arrow frogs plus a bit

dart frogs range from £30 each to well over £150 each, you're going to have to be more specific.

aparently at least £60 .. but dependant on how many he gets will depend on price.. also taking into account colour etc

Will the import papers be available to view?



If they are endangered then why are they going to the pet trade and not to specialist breeders who breed for conservation?

have you contacted pollywog to see if he may be interested. It is important to get experienced amphib breeders to get these guys established and he's about the best i know!

If i remember right these toads are live bearers and don't have that many young. So who ever wants them best be :

not after a few quid if they are succesful with breeding them

as fas as i am aware import papaers will be shown and have no idea why tey are being let in if they are endangered...

i do know that there is only 1 pair in captivity (that is known of) and it is in a zoo somewhere....
