Am I right in thinking that is a female????
It seems to be quite large for Edulis. How big is it SVL??? How old??? It has the look of an immature Adspersus.
I have a male, he croaks, and isn't as big as yours this is what is making me think yours is female!!!

I don't really know how old he/she is, the shop i bought it from sold it as an edulis. It's around 6" SVL which would mean it was a fully grown edulis.
It makes a loud "whoomping" sound every know and then and hisses at me everytime i move it.
From what i have seen it has a appetite more akin to an edulis than adspersus i.e. not as voracious and only feeds around once a week.

there are some amazing photos/vids on there, it is US based so beware live feeding videos if you don't like them. I posted a pic of mine on there and the general concensus was Female edulis but had one or two doubters because of the size.

Yes I used to but dont' any more. There was too much bitching on there when I used to go on. They were always arguing and wanting to show off how vicious their forgs were.

That size would definitely make it a large adult male Edulis then a female doesn't make any noise.

It must be a good age because I got mine in March and it was about 1.5" then and it's around 4.5" now. It's a male so I'd be very happy if it got to 6".

Mine eats every few days but can go over a week sometimes. He will eat a live pinkie but won't touch defrost. I feed him Waxworms and locusts usually though.
