if u have a good old soil/compost, some animals livign in it (insects) live plants etc etc, you wont have to clean it out, just churn up the matter every month or so.

I don't clean mine out at all.

I have a clean up crew of springtails and woodlice living in with them.

I replace my sphagnum moss abour once every 6 months if needed.

As Madele said- I never clean my tanks!

Have woodlice and spring tails in the soil. All I do is wash poo if leaves etc.

I sell cleaner crews if interested!

i clean my tanks completely every 6 months, most of my plants are exo terra plastics so i give them a good wash with HOT HOT water, the real plants i have are potted so i wipe the leafs over. i put fresh moss in each time and i give the tank a good scrub using bottled water and paper towels.

on the baby red eyes i change the paper towel evey other day, there food is to small for moss, just hides!

on a daily basis i clean out the water bowls, remove any poo i can see and wipe the the inside of the doors.

EVERY THING IS DONE WITH BOTTLED WATER

i can get 2x18 litre bottles for 5 pound. just speak to someone with a drinks machine or P.M me

would be interseted in a cleaner crew, what do they consist of?

I have woodlice as cleaners in my tanks... I do pick up any conspicuous poo - they look like fat mice droppings... All my vivs are fully planted and I'm sure any droppings I miss will provide nice fertiliser for them.
