Default Raising temperature

I have a large (~37 gallons) tank with 5 frogs in, the thermometers on the bottom left and right say the temperature is at 20 C and I would like to raise it to 25 at the minimum. How can I do this? I already have one heat matt under the tank and I dont really want to put lights in since they are frogs although I do have a UV bulb which I am considering putting on the top of the viv.

The heat mat just isnt suitable underneath the tank, as I'm sure you've guessed your arboreal froggies are being forced to half bury themselves to try and warm up closer to the mat!

What kind of tank is it? if the top is meshing perhaps you could use a canopy type of heatbulb?

Yes the top is meshing, its a large expterra one, I'm thinking of putting the matt inside. I also have a UV bulb I might use, I just don't like using UV since I spend alot of time near highly ionising radiation anyway.

put another mat on the back!
just plug it into the same thermostat that you have the first one on via an adaptor.
i have one on the bottom and one on the back of all of my tanks, i put them both at the same corner, so that corner gets hottest and the frogs can just chose an area they feel most comfortable in.

Hi just a sugestion if it is a exo terra viv... I have done this on all my exo for my dartfrogs. I have had glass cut to fit in the top of the mesh.
If you have your heatmat under the viv as the heat rises it just escapes straight through the mesh. By cutting this off itll keep the heat in and raise the temp alot. If you are worried about ventilation then you could always get it cut slightly smaller. However exos have quite large gaps between the doors and below the lock so that shouldnt be a problem anyway.
IMO it would be a cheeper option than having another heatmat running as the heat will still be escaping throught hat mesh.

hope this helps
