Default How do you avoid cannibalism in tadpoles?

I'm looking specifically at Pacman frogs but advice on any cannibalistic species would be appreciated. So far I've come across two methods:

a) housing them all in seperate containers
b) providing plenty of food and plenty of vegetation for the tadpoles to hide in, in a communal tank.

The first method seems very time and space consuming, the second doesn't sound like it would work tremendously well. Do you guys use a different method? Do you use one of these, and how successful is it?

I think most tadpoles are cannibalistic but I've used method 2 for my FBT tadpoles and I haven't lost many at all to cannibalism.
I feed the tad's on Liquifry No2 and algae wafers (they love these!) and it seems to be enough to make them leave each other alone, in the main. I did also try using baby fish food powder but they didn't seem to be interested in that.

That's why they lay so many eggs, some won't be fertile, some will be taken by predators such as fish or birds, some will be eaten by their siblings and those that are left then have to go through the trauma of metamorphosis and the lucky few that make it get to start the cycle all over again!

I've not had any experience with Pacman's but I can't see them being very different. I suppose it all depends on the size of the tank and how many tad's you have. As long as they're not too overcrowded, I should imagine they'd be ok.
