Default what to keep in

a 4x18x18, been givena fishtank and can get some amphibs now finally, considering reed frogs, or a bullfrog/horned pixie frog

What would be best for a begginer?

if its a fish tank dont get an aborial frog/ tree frog, because they need height.

youd be ok with reed frogs or a horned frog tho

you can use it for aboreal/tree frogs, you will just have to stand it on its end so it is heigher than it is long....

you do however need to make a front and should idealy replace the top and atleast 1 side (maybee a mesh front) so that you have a a good airflow...

so mate, in conclusion, bull frogs, and horned frogs, maybe fire bellied toads are your best bet!!

I presume you mean a 48"x18"x18"?
If your thinking of Horned or Pyxies I would put in dividers and keep 2, that much space is really going to be wasted on a single adult.
It would be fine for a number of species (18" is in my opinion tall enough for most arboreal species when they have that much length and width to play with) it's really down to your preferance.

18 high is ok, but i aim to have all my frogs in minimum 24 by the time they are adult....

by the time you have drainage and substraight you have already lost 2-4 inches....

more height is always better.
