Oh no What were you feeding? I got some fruit flies for mine, as they turn carnivorous after leaving the water... they ate them.

Maybe something got in the water then? Like a room spray or something? They are very susceptible to things like that.

Just read the whole thread. I found this was always the case with us when we had them. No matter what we did we could not get the little guys to live past a certain stage. It got to the point we just let them go after a short while or else we would have bodies. We have not had wild froggies for a long time as they are protected here in Ireland now.

Yeah raised my first into a (Common) froglet a few weeks ago. Been fine for ages feeding on fruitflies and getting bigger/fatter.

However took him outside to get some fruitflies (they are stored in my shed - as the wife hates the smell of them!) and left him in his tub on the table in the sun by accident ......

Am really annoyed with myself as I hope to raise a number of froglets to release this year but I am one less because of my own stupidity . I guess you learn from these things and will be better at it next time.

If it is any help I took mine out when the tail started to shrink and placed him in a cricket tub with about 2-3 mm of mineral water then a few pebbles and a fake plant. Misted everyday and changed the water regularly. Grew big and fat on fruitflies quickly.
