I kept mine in a 20 gallon the first year of it's life (I raised it from an egg). Then I built it a 4 ft x 2ft x 2ft enclosure on a coffee table with a 20 gallon aquarium sunk into it for a swimming area. It's been in that for 8 years now. It has lots of room to leap and swim.

It used to eat lots of crickets, grasshoppers, and worms, but now mostly eats mice and pinkie rats (we raise our own) with big grasshoppers in the summer. I have never been able to get this one to eat fish, though some love them.

My enclosure has two acrylic sides, the long ones, and two solid sides. I use coconut fibre (coire) and leaves as a substrate, and it has a bark house to hide in if it feels shy. The tank has a filter in it, but I change the water every month or two as well.

the bully sings during summer rains and when certain music comes on...it likes bass. We love our bully!
