Default first amphibians

do fire belly toads make good first amphibs? what are they like to care for? what size viv would you suggest?

hi fire bellies and yellow bellies make great first amphibs. they don't really need any heat or lighting so are cheap too. the size tank depends on obviously how many you'd want and what sort as there are slightly different species avalible.

err i would suggest that if you want fire bellied toads that you provide them with some heat maybe a heat mat or a basking bulb as they do originate from a hot country hense the reason im saying provide heat alot of people say no they do not need heat or light but of course they do they do not originate from pitch black freezing areas of the world do they?

i reckon people dont give them heat and lighting as its cheaper but i have a customer that uses both heat and light and his toads are thriving

ah yes sorry thats right
i keep mine on top of other vivs above heat lights so they get heat from there.
