Default New American Green Tree Frog is WARTY (??)

Yesterday we got him home and popped him into the tank, he hid under a bit of wood, and was motionless for most of the evening, though we noticed he had moved to the watering hole before we went to bed.

Today he is sitting under the basking light, wide awake, and he looks more like a mustardish-brown coloured toad than the smooth green frog we bought yesterday. I have no idea if he is a male or a female, but he is fat. I'm concerned that he didnt have the warty looking skin yesterday, it just looks bumpy, kind of like bad acne..... I havent taken any pics incase it stresses him, what with him being new.

Does anyone know if this is normal? I thought they were nocturnal?

My OH is out all day and I cant call him, his mob is on the coffee table, he's the one that did all the reading up before buying him?

Well we couldnt find a single pic anywhere of a green tree frog that looks like ours. So we went back into the shop for livefood yesterday and noticed they have Grey tree frogs in the same viv. We actually have a GREY tree frog not a GREEN one. He is happy and healthy and very exciteable, he gets a bubble appear under his throat when he croaks, and he runs along his branches at wapr speed, funny cos he's so chubby.
