Thumbs down Another Q: Red Leg!?

Hey guys. WOW I have been asking so many questions here and really apreciate the enthusiasm and goodwill that everyone has towards me here! Thanks!

But, to my point. I am not sure if my frog is developing red leg. Does anyone have any pictures of exampes? My frog is a whites tree frog, and has some pink around his legs. Didnt know if the light pink was just his skin tone or actually red leg! I have had him for about 3 weeks and hes had this pink tone the whole time.

How long does a frog live until he dies of redleg?

thank you all very much. Happy V day!

oh. curious. it worked yesterday. but it was just something i stumbled across. but the picture did show the frog being of pinkish tones. so yes, it could be a bad sign. sadly i can't give you anymore information on it really. perhaps if you could get a picture up, someone may be able to be of more help. all i can suggest is keeping it in a separate tank from any thing else. if it isn't already. as i have a feeling it can be transferred. but i really don't know much on it at all. sorry. well the other thing i can suggest is looking more details up on a search engine. though i expect you have already tried that.

if it is indeed red leg. and it's been noticable for a few weeks now. i'd say your frog has had it. but the fact that there is no swelling makes me wonder. does he seem fit and well? because if he seems fine, you may very well just have a pinkish frog. or it could be a less serious infection.

basically i'm as unsure as you are. there are too many possiblities. so basically, consult a vet if possible.

sorry i can't be of more help.

Unhappy

Hey thanks so much. I will try to get a picture. See, my camera isnt the best and the pictures are kind of fuzzy. He is actually pretty active. I mean, he does almost nothing in the tank, but right when i bring him out, he gets so wounded up! He jumped 3 feet from my hands to the bed earlier! Oh I pray that he doesnt have red leg. I will get a pic in about 10 minutes or less. Thanks again

Default The Pic...

OK I have it. Sorry its not the best. I made it a little smaller so it wouldnt be so fuzzy. As you can see, there is a light pink around the belly and deep red on his thigh. If he does have it, how long till the end?

Default Second Thoughts?

Hey I'm having second thoughts. He isnt lethargic at all, and eats like a pig! Plus, I found this picture:

That Whites has the same pinkish tone around his legs. Coincidence?

Do you own a Whites? If so, does yours have that pinkish color?

By the way, I just wanted to thank you for your help. Can I add you to my friends list?

Ok good! So, by judging by my picture, do you think he has it?

And just wondering how long can a frog live with it?

well from the sounds of it you're frog is fine. though i can see full well why you were concerned. it would have worried me too, as it does look quite red.

actually, i don't have a frog at all. it's more something i'd heard of, rather than knew of. which is why i was very keen for somone else to jump in who could be more definate. i just going from what i've heard with a bit of logic thrown in.

looking at those other pictures though, and hearing how active he is, i think he'll be alright. but like i said. the only way i think you can be definate is by consulting a vet (its may be possible for it to be treated with antibiotics, but don't quote me on that).

as for how long they can live with it. i honestly can't say. it's probably rather dependant on cicrumstances. would have thought he'd be less healthy and active though if he's noticably had it for three weeks.

but like i said. i'm no expert. if you are worried, try to find as many sources as you can.
