I've seen those YouTube vids!! These frogs are totally the best!! Mine's only a baby but he's so cute when he's eating - he's a right little predator!! (Despite the fact he's still a bit clumsy!!).

Personally, mine is going to be sustained on insects... I'm getting my new rat today and I don't like feeding live fluffy foods when I keep the same animal that's going to be eaten...! I'm sure some of these people could use feeding tongs to stimulate movement and feed a dead pinkie instead of chucking a live one in but that's just me! Everyone's different and does things in their own way... I just personally love rats and mice too much!!

PCQ,

I was shocked to see a frog eating something other than an insect. I honestly had no idea they would eat mice.

I used to keep snakes ( a couple of corns and an albino king) but I didn't like feeding pinkies as they do look so cute. Unfortunately there was no alternative with snakes but providing my frogs will get all they need from insects, that will be what they eat.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it dangerous to feed live mice and poss illegal?

I think its illegal to feed live mice in England, most of them videos you see with frogs eating live food is most probably from the US.

That red tree frog looks wicked!

Redeye,

Am I right in thinking they should only be an occassional treat due to the higher fat content, seeing as White's are prone to obessity?

As you say, they will eat anything that fits in their mouth's should I rethink river pebbles as a base to my viv?

I used to keep a corn too - he died in 2005
I didn't much like feeding pinkies but that's what you get with a snake! I'd never fed them live though - I don't like that kind of thing...
I think it is illegal to feed live mice in the UK... When I was living in Blackpool a couple of years ago a pet store was closed down because it had been selling live rats and mice as food for snakes... Their license was taken away after they had had a warning to stop selling the rodents but they carried on behind the scenes and eventually got themselves into heaps of trouble... Serves them right!!
I also read that pinkies should just be fed as an occasional treat because you really do have to watch a White's weight.
I don't know... there's just something weird about feeding a frog a pinkie!! But I'm a rodent fan so what am I going to say!!
