Bloodworm i'd presume, seeing as there a natural food source out of a pond, there bound to eat any kind of insects. I suppose other insects would be considered too.

Frozen Bloodworm cubes from a fishshop. They always used to work when I was kid.

It may be frowned upon to remove any wild creature from its natural environment but as far as I am aware with the exception of the great crested newt and possibly Natterjack toad all other native amphibians can legally be collected but not sold. This is of course subject to land owner permission etc. It is illegal to catch, possess or handle great crested newts without a licence and it is also illegal to cause them harm or death, or to disturb their habitat in any way ( Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 ) .
