Default Help needed re food for my FBT

I got my fbt last Sat and am very pleased with them so far. I have a male and a female, both around a year old. She is a lot bigger than him, she is around an inch and a half, him around an inch. Here in lies the problem.
They had been fed mainly on locusts, with occasional fruit flies and micro crix. I had my locusts delivered last Fri and bought the smallest size avaliable. However, already, most of them are getting a little too big for him to eat, and in a couple of days time I won't be able to feed them too him anymore as they will just be too big - they grow too fast. The last guy had other reps, so the ones that got too big for the toads just got fed to the other reps. I don't have any others, so am stuck with a dozen or so locusts that I can't really do anything with. (Does anyone want them for free? I am in North West ish Kent. PM me if you do)
So my question is this - the only thing that is really small enough, and will stay small enough for little lad to eat, are fruit flies and spring tails, until he grows a little larger. Is this a varied enough diet for them? If not, what else stays small enough for him to eat safely (I would say the gap between his eyes is around 10 mil)
Thanks for any answers in advance!

You could also try curly winged flies (dartfrog) and worms...

If you order cricks online you get them delivered...and if you order say 2nd instar brown cricks (which are smaller than blacks) these will be fine for him, maybe even too small (I feed them to my baby red eyed tree frogs which are only 2.5mm in length)

For my fire bellies I got 3rd instar...keep them in a cooler place and they wont grow quickly. Fire bellies will take quite a bit of food every day and a varied diet is good, but it is more important they are able to eat it. Gut load cricks and give them some carrot (this will help the toads colour)...

Hope this helps!

Would buffalo worms be another good food source for them? 8 - 10 mil and better for them than mealworms.

Anyone know if buffalo worms are going to be okay to give my toadies on a regualar basis? Have heard they have much lower chitin levels so are much safer than mealies. Plus they are a perfect size (10 mil ish).
If not, can anyone recommend something else I can feed? They are on fruitflies and springtails atm but as they are both so small it is difficult to moniter the ammount they are eating. Locusts get too big, too quickly. Don't want to feed crix as have heard many horror stories about feeding them and the crix have infact fed on the frog/toad and killed it. Don't want to risk that for my little guys. Any other ideas? Needs to be around 10 mil ideally in length, 12 tops.
Thanks!

Just measured him (as accurately as I can - against the side of the tank!) and he measures between 3.5 and 4 cm, so bigger than I thought!
He has no problem catching food, I always watch them eat. He is not skinny at all either - in fact he is probably a bit fatter than his female who is slightly bigger than him.
Any ideas for food?

what I feed to my newts when they morph + buy a few tubs and they start to breed pretty easily so you end up with a pretty good food supply
