As with any arboreal species, gtfs will prefer height rather than width. I assume the tank is 2' wide and 1' deep.
There are people that will pop the tank on its edge making it 2' tall, but then you've got the problem of 1. fixing a side to it and 2. adding any lighting etc. Personally, I'd steer away from the treefrogs and maybe to a smaller species such as reedfrogs or dartfrogs. These, however, are a little bit more difficult to look after than your bog standard gtf and again I'm assuming this would be your first amphib, in which case I would always recommend a more 'hardy' species. Ever considered something like fire belly toads to start with? Hope this helps.

Fire Bellied Arnt Really My Thing.
I Prefer The Tree Frogs. Yeah, Ive read there arboreal. And Its Only 1ft Tall Too. I Have The Largest Exo Terra Which Will Be Free Soon (It Houses My Brazilian Rainbow Boa) At The Minute. So i Could possibly just Get The GTF's Then. Just Dont like the idea of having an empty tank which is in good condition. Are Dart Frogs Difficult To Keep. In Wat Terms Are They Less Hardy? Do They Not Do Very Well With Mixing Of Humiderty, Temps Etc. Dart Frogs Would Look Pretty Smart In It. But I Dont feel i have enough knowledge (Correct, this will be my first amphib) to look after Them. Thanks, |

I'd say yes, dartfrogs are more difficult to keep. They're quite delicate when compared to medium-large treefrogs and won't weather changes in heat/humidity as well as the more hardy species.
