Default mealies for horned frog

Are mealies OK to feed my horned frog all the time?
She seems to really enjoy these but I cant get her to eat crickets or waxies.
I can still offer them, well my partner can offer the crix, I wont touch them even with tweezers lol. But she just doesnt seem to eat unless its a meal worm.
Is it the same as in lizards that the chitin is hard to digest?

I would say it isnt good to feed it just mealworms, i have stopped giving mine them as part of his staple because he seemed to not be as regular. Mine really likes earth worms so i give him a lot more of them instead, if you havent tryed them then go for that as mine loves them more than anything else. I find mine doesnt really go for crickets but it loves roaches, big locusts, earthworms and mice best. Try some of those and see if it goes for them, also if it refuses what you want it to eat then just skip a feed and try it with the same thing again next time, a horned frog should nail pretty much anything you touch its mouth with if its hungry.

mealworms for amphibs are not very healthy and the only good one are the tiny ones. Use earthworms, once they have a waxie they wont resist and also use locusts/crickets but try using smaller sizes and bigger sizes soi that it can choose which it likes best. Only use mice once every 8-10 days (or more) but at the same time should be fed to the frog to get the fat and calcium they need. if your frog refuses other foods dont give them mealies. they wont starve themselves to death. its probably IMO become obsessed with mealies so now wont switch.

I dont hardly get earthworms in my garden for some reason. I can go out digging tomorrow and see if I can find some.
Her mouth is huge when she goes to bite it, its amazing lol.
