I've just read someone suggesting keeping sand in the tank instead of gravel or pebbles! As i've never heard of this and find it interesting would this sand be better for my newts than the pebbles? as their food falls between the pebbles and rots which means alot of stress for my newts with constant cleaning.

if so, where can i get this sand?

yh that happens to me i just deal with it. sand looks amazing in the aquarium BUT can be ingested
