They need to be very wet (hi humidity) and they eat crix.
I use coir block as a base with a layer of moss and orchid bark over the top of that and provide a large water bowl/pool. They do well with temps of about 25c and well ventilated. Faunariums are good for small frogs and Exoterra tanks are good for the adults. Rob

For the water you can use any type of bowl, I would suggest not to use a glass bowl as it will risk having your aqarium chipped (if the aquarium is glass) Make sure that the frog's can easily get out of the water by adding rocks, logs or having a shallow area (they may be good swimmers but if they don't have access to land, they can drown). If you're going to use a heater in the water, i would recommend a microwave safe bowl or something that wont melt.
In one of my aquariums I use fine gravel as the ground cover, I pick out the faeces when I see them and give the aquarium a thorough cleanout every once in a while. If you have gravel, make sure it is not big enough to get stuck inside a frog if one decides to eat some, in other words, fine gravel or sand. In another of my aquariums I have water in the bottom with pebbles as land. You probably already know that they like to hide, so add some hiding spots like bark, plants, aquarium ornaments, ect Good luck, have fun! |

Sand and gravel, whatever size they are are not good substrates for Whites at all!! They will lead to impaction if the frog swallows it, even if it is fine. And from watching my Whites feed for the last few years of keeping them i can say that they are very clumsy and enthusiastic feeders and will almost definately injest some of the substrate.
Also, Quote:
I would advise a substrate of smooth river rocks, and some live mosses

We have moss in our whites, and the water bowl needs to be shallow so they can climb out as they are not good swimmers.
You need to make sure you keep it humid in there and spray your viv (exo terra is the best) twice a day with treated water as frogs absorb things through there skins. They eat crickets and the occasional wax worm as a treat, get yourself a good book on Whites tree frogs there are plenty about, and have a good read before buying your frogs. |

I'va also had my White's for a few years, I've never had any problems with any. I've had my golden bell frog eat some fine gravel once, came right out the other end, pefectly fine. I know a herpetologist who says that fine gravel is ok to use and that any swallowed goes straight through their system, but everyone has their own opinion, so do as you please.
