I think thats partly it but also the fact that they are pretty hard to keep and so the demand level is pretty low.

Yeh, thats what I was wondering. I guess it needs quite a different set up to most nano tanks.

Ah, yeh, good point. I also wonder if it is easier to get hold of in the US, as I dont think I could easliy get hold of one here, and I'm sure it would be expensive.

Not stung by this one, they are pretty harmless depending on your sensitivity to it. Every jellyfish, like every spider has poison but most are harmless to people. The only time I ever really felt pain from jellyfish was in thailand while scuba diving. there were little jellyfish everywhere that just looked like dirt floating in the water. They were only like 1/4 cm in size and they said most people are not effected by them but man they made my arm joints and back of my leg joints sting like someone was lighting them on fire.

Yeah, it's amazing the things I cant get that you all can from the UK and visa versa. I get online to find some cockroaches for breeding and every site is a UK sight and that goes with so many other things especially reptile related things.

So, hows the jelly doing?

I am currently working at London Aquarium for 3 weeks, and they have a couple of species of jelly.

One is photosynthetic... so I wont go into that.

But, the other species are not, they feed on food.

I dont know if it helps, but I'll tell you what they do:

They have them in cicular tanks, with slow water circulation. The water quality, of course, is spot on. Nitrates about 5ppm. They have aobut 10 or so in a tank that must be about 200 litres I guess. They feed twice daily: One group gets fed copropods (about 20ml of dense copropod solution), the other brine shrimp napuli (about 500ml of less dense solution).

Hope yours is still alive
