So, I got a couple of brb hatchlings the other day. Yesterday one escaped, oh yes! So after carefully tearing the flat to pieces, I began to lose faith in finding the little bugger. When I just thought I'd better check the box I had semi-packed for shipping, for eBay....... Lo and behold there he was, in the padding!!
So someone out there who was expecting a pair of decks, nearly had a new pet.

Pointless story, but I'm bored sh**less.

Well, Saturday 31st we set off up to Ipswich to see another forum member to collect a pair of HET Albino Royals (THANKS RANEGRAFIX). Journey was pretty painless which was nice.

On the journey back I had them on my lap (I wasn't driving!) in a cardboard box with loads of shredded paper. The male was so inquisitive he sat some of the journey with his head popping out the box watching the cars go by while the female had a sleep.

Anyway, I did manage to strike a deal with the seller so that I could take away their set-ups which was handy, only disadvantage was that i couldn't set the RUBs up before hand. So I got home and set the RUB's up and let the temps settle for 20 mins while showing the new snakes off to my house mate and just checking over for any problems/retained shed etc. No problems as expected!

Once in I let the new couple settle for a few days and the fella came into shed, he managed a pretty clean shed. Came off in a couple of pieces but removed 99% of the skin, just left a tiny section on his tail which he had no problem letting me remove for him.

I took a trip up to my local frozen food place and bought some mice. I do want to convert the new 2 onto rats (They've eaten them before so should be an easy transition) but seeing as this was their first feed in a new home thought i best go with what they knew best. Got a good result too, both ate with no problems.

So, the currently named Bam-Bam and Pebbles (might change yet, undecided) have settled weel, taken a feed and are amazingly docile. So all in all, well chuffed. Thanks again goes out to Ranegrafix, its a shame you had to sell, but i'm glad you did :2thumb:

Now its going to be hopefully a nice pain-free year of feeding and getting the pair up to weight ready to make some albino babies next season!

Just 10 days ago my brother and I got 4 Horsfield tortoises all around 12 months old, keeping 2 each. One of mine appears to have watery eyes, not eating very much but is lively. One of my brother's makes a hissi sound if you approach him and has tried to bite his finger. Looking at some of the websites there does appear to be alot of difference of opinions and guidance. As we are very new to keeping tortoises any guidance in ensuring we support them correctly would be appreciated.

I am a South African now living in the UK and feel at a bit of a loss without my menagerie. One thing I have learned about the UK is that there are rules and processes for everything. Basically, before I start building a new collection, are there any rules and regulations I need to know about regarding the keeping of live reptiles please?

Also, most of the animals I have kept before were either LC or traded within the community of collectors within South Africa. Is this the right forum for trying to build those community ties again please?
