Regurge Update, sad news!

Feeding day for my two regurgers came around again on 2/1/08, so I got everything ready to clean them out and give them fresh water etc.

When I got to my Opal motley girls tub I found her laying along the side of her tub with her head upside down!
After calling to Hubby to come take a look at her with me, I opened her tub and there was a terrible smell. I gently lifted her from the tub and she was very limp and lethargic and not very responsive.
I put her back in her tub and covered it with a towel in the hope she would feel more secure and went to make a couple of phone calls for advice.

When I went back a little while later to check on her, she had a sort of convulsive spasm, went completely belly up and became totally un-responsive. Sadly she passed away before I could do anything for her!

I have no idea why she died as she was doing so well following the regurge, she had eaten and digested three very small feeds successfully. Also she was out cruising her tub the evening before and even took a drink while I was watching her. So it was quite a shock but I think she may have had something systemically wrong with her, that may have caused her death anyway.

So not a very good start to the new year!

There is some good news though. Bailey, my little Butter motley boy has now eaten and digested five post regurge feeds successfully and is due his sixth tomorrow. So hopefully he is well on the road to recovery!
