i think its more to do with size, i dunno though

You want to aim for approx 18 months and 400grams +

I always wait until they are around 2 years just to be safe. This way you can be pretty sure their skeletal systems are fully mature and your females are less likely to have problems with MBD. You need to make sure she gets extra calcium supplements when gravid anyway, but waiting these few extra months often helps to prevent the female's body from stripping calcium from her own bones to shell her eggs.

Obviously only the healthiest animals in the best physical condition should be used for breeding.
