i wouldnt reccomend it personally, its very pricey for what it is, its basically a hi tech poly box style incubator, for that price i would reccoment herp nursery II, cornish crispa are the cheapest for them

Default dont buy it!

We had one of those and we came home a couple of weeks back to find the wire inside had frazzled to dust and lost all our eggs.
Weve just stripped it down and used the box to make one with heatmats now- got 2 more eggs this morning so hopefully this way will work out ok...

had terrible luck with the hovabator, its toooo shallow [not very deep/high i mean] and well...for what it is its overpriced.

many have used them with success mind.

I've used various types of incubator including the hovabator, as well as the mini-fridge style ones and home-made polybox styles, and have had good results with all of them. I wouldn't personally say that one type is better than the other, only that a home-made one will be cheaper than a hovabator, and a hovabator will be cheaper than a herpnursery.

A hovabator will be ok for beardie and leo eggs if you're in a rush and haven't got time to make a home-made polybox incubator. A word of warning though - monitor the temps and humidity very carefully - the twisty-knob type thermostat on the hovabator isn't very accurate at all and will take a lot of fiddling to get it just right. I'd definately buy an accurate digital thermometer/hygrometer (for use with any incubator, not just the hovabators) and keep a close eye on it.

You can often purchase second-hand hovabators off eBay for fairly sensible prices.

Hope that helps a bit!

Default re

I have used them for every batch i have had from my dragons, 9 in all, i have never had any issues and had a 100% success rate, however u are limited to how many eggs it will hold so today i made an incubator out of an old fridge that i got from the local landfil. installed a nice long heat mat ripped out the guts of it and wied it to a pulse habistat now holding 84.2 so perfect for what i want, but will go right up to 96 temps tested with a heat gun

I've had my hovabator running almost constant for the last 3 years with no problems at all.
I also use glass fronted fridges with ceramic plates and fans fitted which are ideal for larger eggs.
