Right, first things first. i take no credit for this breeding journal thing what so ever.
I searched it on google and it is a by a guy, and was like a diary.
ive tried searching for it again so i can put his name on it but i cant find it
anyways,
all ive done is try to make it simpler and like a step by step guide.
I havnt tried this programme, but i would like to breed whites soon.
any comments would be great
Step 1: Winter period
November
1. Really start feeding the frogs lots of good quality food. Such as locust and crickets fed on greens such as carrots, kale, romain lettuce. Wax worms (you need sumo size frogs as they wont get food for 3months)
2. Day time temperatures of 27 - 29 degrees dropping to 22 - 24 degrees at night
3. Light period from 07.00 to 20.00
December
1.(1st week) Decrease photo period from 07.00 to 19.00
2.(2nd week) Continue normal feeding and temps but decrease photo period once again from 07.00 to 17.00
3.(3rd week) Decrease the day time temperature to 24 degrees and a night time temperature to 20 degrees
4. Stop feeding and stop misting but continue to provide a shallow water dish. Also provide moist hides using sphagnum moss
5.(4th week) Decrease the day time temperatures to 18 degrees and night time temperatures to 14 degrees ( maintain these temperatures until told otherwise.)
6. Keep checking the hides are moist and clean
January
1.(1st week) Turn of the light source completely and cover the tank in a sheet to create darkness. Check the frogs every other day and look for signs of ill (maintain all these factors until told otherwise)
February
1.(3rd week) Uncover the viv. Set the light period from 08.30 to 16.30
2. Day time temperature of 24 degrees and night time temperature of 18 degrees
3.(4th week) Raise the day time temperature to 27 degrees and night time temperature to 21 degrees
4. Start to mist lightly once a day. Lightly start to feed the frogs again once they become active at night
March
1.(1st week) Mist lightly every other day. Raise the day time temperature to 27 - 29 degrees and night time temperatures of 22 - 24 degrees
2. Start feeding the frogs heavily but decrease the spraying to about every 3rd day. Continue this all through March
Step 2: The rain chamber
April
Its now time to put the frogs into the rain chamber.
Maintain a photo period from 08.30 - 16.30. Continue to maintain a day time temperature of 27 - 29 degrees and a night time temperature of 22 - 24 degrees
Cycle the rain for about 4 - 5 hours each night until they lay.
