Exclamation OH oh!!!! more babies... ideas please???

Hi, I've recently been selling my baby bearded dragons (of which ten are still available ) however I have just discovered that not one but TWO of my females are now pregnant ....

BUT!!! by the time they lay I will hopefully have the current babies sold however I am keeping one as its the one I hand fed mushy bug ect. when it was really small as I honestly didnt think he was gonna make it, and will have two seperate clutches at completely different times it looks like cos they are both at different stages.......

So I will have two different age clutches needing two seperate living areas and one beardy currently 9 weeks old who I will be keeping permanantly..... and I dont have 3 spare tanks... I have 1 which that babies are in now, then the ones with my adults.... when the babies are sold except sprog I will be using that for either him or another clutch... eitherway Im down by two vivs ... can anyone give me some cheap and easy Ideas for secure and safe but space effective vivs???

maybe even posting pics of your own made vivs?????

thanks a million guys

Hi, in breeding facilities for beardies in America they keep their babies in big open top R.U.Bs with the uvb and basking lights just hanging above and some hides and stones etc. will be cheaper... not sure about space saving tho! hope this helps.

Anna.

that's what I'd recommend for cheaper enclosures. You can get one tube to run across 3 tubs, and a separate basking light for each, which you'd need to build a cheap frame to suspend them from (either from batons or chipboard). The hard part will be getting mesh to go over the tubs to keep the food inside. When a mate did it he had to buy a huge roll of it for like 30 quid, as it had to be fine enough to keep small insects in, but also open enough to let enough of the UV through. He used 50ltr Really useful boxes and mdf to suspend the lights from I think, personally I'd use chipboard or batons though. I think it was a pain to get in and out of them though. Originally he was going to put the mesh into the lids of the RUBs but I think in the end he just had it stretched across all 3.

we had this problem once when we had a few litters to many.
we got a book case and laid it on its back took out some of the shelfs and done this....

not very pretty but done the job ... we didn't use a lid as the room was warm enough (reptile room) and the live food we used was blacks so they couldnt climb. we also used UV tubes close to the beardies and spot lights to give a basking spot. it worked very well.
