Default Breeding leos?

Ok for Christmas iv been asked what i want, i usually get around 600 for christmas but supposely im not getting as much this year due to lower stuff stupid adult stuff :P

anyway iv been thinking and i think i wanna start a small breeding project, not sure what for, im thinking either beardies or leos cos there the only lizards iv had experiences with as i own both. I realise a lot of things are to be considered but i realy think i would like to take on the responsibility.

so dunno wether to go for beardies of leos, i think i could easily get rid of the ofspring whilst making a few quid to pay for the food.

any ideas on which?

im thinking it wud cost around 100 for a incubator,\then whatever to spend on a female and setup for hatchlings etc?

all ideas welcome

Don't assume you'll make enough on the babies to pay for THEIR food let alone the adults' food... one year I had thirty-some baby leopard geckos (and twelve adults). They cost about £30 a month to feed; I made a total of £120 selling the geckos (and the vast majority of THAT was store credit). That's only four months of food, leaves eight months of feeding geckos unpaid-for (never mind anything else!)

Yeh i understand that, but i already pay £10 a week for food for the beardie and the leo, 1 box of crix, 1 box of marios/mealies, 1 box of locust and sometimes i get wax worms. so the normal payed ammount wont realy matter as i already pay normally, im not realy planning on making looads of money on it.

I would say Leos

Incubtor wont cost that much if u go simple:

Poly box-£3-5
Heat mat-10-15
Matstat/pulse stat-£15-20/£35

there's a couple of good threads regarding breeding and profit ~
Breeding for an income..
Any profit in breeding leos?
I have to say that overall I count myself lucky if the hatchlings make enough to cover the cost of just the extra food that they go through during the season

leos as they are cheaper to keep should you have to keep hatchlings. beardies would need heat lamp uv etc in seperate set ups.

i think if you are going to breed leo's or beardies, you have to simplify, rather than buying tubs or crickets and mealworms, breed your own buy buying in bulk and starting fresh, get any bargains you can find, used heatmats and stats are always on ebay or the classifieds.

if you get any takeaways keep the plastic tubs food comes in and use them as moist hides.

yes it is very un eye pleasing but if you want to make some money to cover food/pay keep to parents etc then it has to be done.

breed a perticular morph and stick with it. for CB normals to be sold to a shop you'd be looking at £5 for each, they'll sell for £10-£15 and you'll be losing money, if you sold a RAPTOR, enigma or diablo blanco's then you can get more money for each leo.
