I have bought from them since I setup my marine fish tank , when I spent close to £2000 just for the rock, filters and skimmer.(to being with)

since then , I have spent many many pounds on fish , food, reptiles, including Burms , and including at least 2 vivs at £200 each.......

I am sick of going in there, like today and I asked, Hi , I understand you have a couple of red tailed racers, which was answered by ' NO!, not even a nice answer, like no , im sorry ,mate, but we do , but they are not for sale , it was just a blatent ' NO !

As if I was some idiot !!! , I have many snakes , and reps and have spent thousands of pounds in this store and do not deserve to be treated like this !!!!

I also asked about the their hog, which the guy was ok showing me , but when asked is it friendly was told its nocternal , so no , not good during the day , this hoggie was over a year old and still priced at £200 , unbelievable .........

I HAVE VOWED THAT THIS SHOP WILL NEVER GET £1 OF MY MONEY ANY MORE AS I CANNOT STAND TO BE CHARGED OVER THE ODDS FOR SOMEWHERE THAT WILL NEVER BE FULL OF INFORMATION OR HAVE ANYTHING UNUSUAL THAT DOSNT COST LESS THAN £200 !!!
I think this is a bit over the top.... ANY petshop you go in has to charge "high" prices compared to "internet" prices as they have to make a profit because it's a business. I don't think their prices are all that bad, and they do have a lot of unusual things that you don't normally find in a reptile shop!

The staff are constantly busy. There is not one day i go in there when they're not rushed off their feet. I'm good friends with the staff in there, and that couldn't of happened had they been "cold and untrained"...
If it was that bad why continue to buy from there after your first, obviously horrific visit??
I'm sure the way they were to you was simply as they're busy and i know me for one would get pretty annoyed with questions constantly, people asking to see thing, buy things, question how they're kept bla bla bla!!
Don't know how many times i've been standing talking to Vicky or whoever and someone has said "tortoise is on its back"... bit of an evolutional flaw if tortoises can't flip themselves back over don't you think??

RIPOFF

i now will use SuperReps in Kempston now, freindly staff and cheaply priced reps that are looked after and only £2 a tub of healthy locusts and crix...also the do 6tubs for £10!!!
If you want to see a shop that "all they want is your money" take a trip down to some of the pet shops at Crews Hill - Enfield, then come home and compare it to the koi. I think you'll plainly see the difference! Agreed they could charge less for locusts n crickets... but i don't mind paying it when i see the animals properly cared for.

But they are the dearest shop around, and ever since they expanded last time their prices have gone up and up .....

Their attitude towards me is due to the fact that I didnt buy one of their £895 crocodiles, I asked to speak to the owner and he never bothered to call me back , so in the end I kept going there and they dropped the price to £600 for me , I still refused as I could get one from the only UK breeder for £395 ...

Im not saying they are a bad shop , but they are miles to overpriced for everything, £200 for a Hedghog that you can get for £100, Suger Gliders for £500 a pair when you can get a pair for £250, and £895 for Caiman that you can get for £395, even down to their pots of Locust for £4.75 that you can get locally : (Underwaterworld and pet alsorts in the town) for £2.50.

I have vowed that I will never spend one more penny in there, not as if I think they would be bothered about that ........

Im not saying others should not shop there and if you have built friendships with the people in there then thats great..

They will just never see me again ....

Steve

Im just saying that while everybody keeps going there and paying their prices they will never put them down.....
Why should they put them down? People still buy the stuff! As i say... The animals are brilliantly cared for and no expense is spared for their care. If they didn't spend so much on nice looking vivs, decor etc for the CUSTOMERS SATISFACTION!! then they could afford to lower prices... As it is they make a good business and i think most prices are fair.

As i say they get a lot of unusual things that you wouldn't find in a pet shop normally.. And i've not seen a hedgehog priced under £150, which is probably not far off what they paid for it, so £50 over priced isn't really something i'd whine about tbh!!

Overall i love this shop and i virtually live in there lol The staff are always friendly and pleasant and have been good to us whenever we've needed help or advice on anything. 10/10 from me guys! Keep up the good work!

agree staff are friendly, but the live food i brought was crap, half were near dead by morning and was a bit skanky IMO

I use the koi place all the time and personlay have no complaints, i know they are a little expensive but every thing i have had from there has been good quality, i have had fish, reps, amphibians and a hampster and all have been in A1 condition....

i find the people really help full and seem like they cant do enough for me. they always have had the answers to my problems, and they havent just tried to sell me some thing to fix it...

the guys on the rep and fish departments really do know there stuff and lets be honest would not have there jobs or such health reps and fish if they didnt.

i must spend over £30 a week there easily, thats without the days of the odd £400-£500 and i would not consider going any were else, i like the quality and the people.

if you have had a bad expirience im sure you was just unluck or you caught them when it was real bussy....
...could you dedicate yourself to 1 customer if there are another 7 or 8 waiting in your job.

people can only do the best they can and for me the KOI is number 1 in this area by far, would have to travel a long way to find a better place....

For 5 years ?

I know that you will say , Why did I carry on to shop there ........

Because they have some things that in this area , apart from Ameyzoo (that I cant be bothered to travel too) so , thats why I went there , I shopped there for marine fish for 4 yrs there before reptiles ....

I would never buy tarantulas there as I have been a member of the BTS for 15 yrs , and at the May show in Birmingham they are a quarter of the price especially compaired to Japanese Koi , I have bought things from there when there was no where else to buy what I wanted ....

As I said , and all of you keep harping on about, especially as half of them are friends or relations , the staff are not that bad, but have not liked me since I didnt buy their Harrods priced Crocodiles ....

I think they are ok. Got a quality male fat tail from them on tuesday. The fish staff are pretty shite. I know my fish pretty well and they tried to give me bollocks. I pulled the guy up on it to which he replied oh well it works with some customers.

Nice attitude, not lol. (sorry been watching borat)
