below is a pm i sent to this forum member and i would like to make it public
to avoid future problems

keep in mind we bought this ig
as a "rescue"
3 weeks ago
mite treatment was "forgotten" when we'd recieved ig
and have pm'd since he'd "forgotten" asking if he could send it

ig was underweight
and infested with red and black mites
which we have pictures of
crawling all over his face and lower neck

which didn't appear
not even a pm to say it had been "sent" in the first place

so i'd like to voice this
not for a dispute, but to let others know of the sheer disregard of some people

iguana is now in a LOT better shape since being with us
and mites have cleared with our own treatment and regularly bathing and viv sterilisation


to be honest snowy
i am absolutely appauled with the fact you haven't sent the mite treatment

i fail to believe you had it in the first place
as you stated you sent it to the wrong address

and would "send it again"
how can you send it again when you've sent it to the wrong address?

you clearly have no concern for this iguana
and for 200 pounds for the viv to arrive with the heat lamp bulb clearly blown

for you to even advertise an animal without stating it had mites and for me to only find out by clicking "find all posts"

i am disapointed and angered

i will not be buying from you again and will make sure people know what has happened

i don't wish to hear anymore of your bulls***

i have been asking you to send the mite treatment since the ig arrived here

which was 3 weeks ago

you understood my concerns before ig arrived
and i posted you quotes about mites in reps
and the use of frontline etc

when i found out through another post that ig had them
you didn't even tell me !!!!

we have bought the mite treatment ourselves
a zoo med, specific for reps

and could very nearly have been £200 down the drain
not to mention
a distraught family who lost their new pet

ig is handled daily
bathed daily
and his terrible scarring and skin condition is getting better
even though the dramatic scarring won't ever go due to the mite infestation being there for so long

the time ig came in
his foot was so sore he couldn't use it properly
the crease of his ankle was an open wound under the flap of skin

and he would sit on his log scratching

he was in obvious discomfort and i don't understand how you could sell an animal in that condition

he was very lethargic due to the lack of heat of the trip you took down here
which isn't your fault especially
but what is beyond me is that the bulb is completely broken

we replaced it immediately and ig soon perked up
but the sheer fact that not even a flicker of the bulb to show we'd blown it
mean't that he'd been without a heat source for more than the journey

like i said
i don't wish to have anymore correspondence with you

Hooch is in a lot better hands now
and is improving loads

eating everything from red pepper, tomatoes, to water cress
and hasn't touched the dry pellets you had him on
which makes me understand why he was so underweight

you were right to sell him
as you are obviously not very clued up on igs
and even though you had a lot of bits and bobs with him including the calcium supplement
you clearly haven't looked enough into igs
as he's in the wrong shape viv
(a new one has been ordered)

to sell him and the equipment in the state you did
was just awful

sorry to all for the long message
but this needed saying.

and i find it hard to believe the owner had him before you
openly admitted to punching ig in the face when he tail whipped
no more sob stories
the only person who did any harm to ig was you.

I had the Iguana Less than a month I swear on my familys lives that i rescued him But I wanted to keep him! I have had some tough time at the moment with health and family problems Which I would of thought out of all people you would understand!!

I loved that ig! The damage was NOT from me It was from The previous owner! I have had reps for years and the conditions of them all are impecable!

I have health issues like you and also cant work!

I have to go to hospital weekly for checkups which again i can prove! I am wainting for lung transplants! Please
Understand I might be in the wrong at the moment for forgeting to send the mite treatment! But honestly I care for the ig thats why i wanted him to go to a good home! I have vets bills to prove hes had treatment!

Just let me talk to you about this! I have been good all the way except forgeting the treatment to be sent I can take pics and email you them of the treament stuff if you like!!

what treatment has ig had?

i am sorry for your situation
but with the state of my life at the moment

my cancer battle, death of my father, overdose of my brother etc.
whatever the crap
i still have time to look after my reps and do the neccessary
if you didn't have the time you shouldn't have taken it on

explain the misadvertising of the mites?
explain the broken bulb?

i am not looking for a sympathy story
i could give one back just the same
that isn't the matter in hand

and the fact you haven't answered the questions and fought back at the statements i've made on false advertisement etc makes me just wonder how much of your stories to believe

including the harsh accusations on you rescueing an ig from a home who openly admitted to punching their iguana in the face, and not feeding it for long periods of time.

if you could pm me with any treatment ig has had
as i'd like to know what we should be following up with
which you should also have let us know about

i don't want to hear anymore

Hi The ig had nearly one full bottle of exo terra repti-mite and had one and a half weeks treatment of watered down frontline!

agreed, you two should talk i feel there is no need to go posting it all over the forum, you two sort it between yourselfs then once you have spoken if your still not happy an for some very good reasons then let people know.

But you two obviously need to do some talkin.


Sayin that tho whatever to outcome i got to say that snowy seems like a nice person and im not going to slate anybody i dnt know the facts and stuff.
