I know what you mean, and I have seen some great offers slowly walk away in front of my eyes. but... some snakes & lizards are definately worth the distance! I'm torn in two on this idea, don't know which one i'd prefer. If this happened and all i do is check south, I would miss out naturally on all the things up north and whatnot.

Got to agree with PiercedRab here, been on the lookout for some Leos for my boyfriend, going through the classifieds I see LOADS! And when i look in the thread they are all down south
(though I have managed to locate 3 breeders up here, hurrah )
Also, for those of you willing to travel, at least you'd be able to narrow down the options ie you may be able to travel 100 miles but not 500 miles so you'd know which areas not to bother with
(Also, with the speed that rep classifieds move it there might be less trawlingn through pages and pages from just teh last 2 days to do)

Although, doesn't really need to be applied to Inverts as nearly all of them can be posted.

A better solution might be to ask people to put a location in the title of the thread, rather than make people who are willing to travel have to traverse another set of forums.

I think thats been tried
(though it is a very good idea!)
I think half the threads you see with a location in the title, the location has been put there by a mod.

Another way of doing it is like a chinchilla forum I use where they have a template that all ads have to use, so it could made to have to include type of animal, price and location. That would solve several problems and if the ad is not submitted using the template it is removed. People would soon catch on. It still doesn't help the ones that are crap at geography though lol!

I think that is a good idea - that's how they do it on another forum I use, a template plus the classifieds is moderated so only properly formatted posts are approved to be seen. I don't know if that would be more or less hassle then removing the badly done ones afterwards?
