i have bought both sparkly clean good as new second hand vivs and dirty crap second hand vivs with holes in the mesh before. needless to say i'd only ever go for the former in future as crickets managed to escape from the crap one i got. i got it on ebay and drove 15 miles to get it so felt i had to still take it really!
![]() but yeah i mean. you wouldn't buy a dirty second hand car would you? so why should it be different for something that takes like 10 minutes to clean?!

It wouldn't bother me if the price was right, I'd rather save money and clean it, than spend an extra £20 to have it cleaned for me. I brought a viv from a pet shop the other day and because it was stained with tea and coffee and had loads of dust and dirty bits because it had been a display viv, it only cost me £25 (normally this size cost over £75) and took no more than 20 mins to clean.
I wouldn't want to buy one that had loads of shite inside it, but a bit of surface dirt or dust isn't really a problem.

haha - yes - I think that would be rank!!! As I say I wouldnt but second hand to be honest, but I can see why sometimes a little dirt isnt a problem. Like you say if someone had actually been keeping an rep in a dirty viv then god knows what disease it might be harbouring! ![]() |

doesn't matter to me, even if a viv comes spotless or brand new we still clean it before suing it.
also we've sold things that aren't spoltless, we always give them a quick once over but beyond that we leave it to the seller, like I said I'd hopew no one off here would hcuck an animal straight in a used viv without a clean even if it did look spotless.

the most recent ebay purchase i made had poop and allsorts in.. cricket legs etc... yuk I always clean the vivs when i get them home no matter whether they are spotless or not.. but thats not the point.. the point is basically manners and hygiene... i was brought up that if you can recycle... by all means recycle.. second hand is great,, dirty habits are not
