. If money was no object why would you only go up to 5000? 5K is not that much at all when it comes to designer morph snakes.

What a lot of people forget is that these are investment snakes. Spending thousands on one of these snakes is not like p1ssing money up the wall. Spending thousands on a designer morph is no more crazy than putting it in the hands of the stock market IMO.

i suppose this is the same with any snake you buy ( or any live thing i suppose)

the 5 grand investment could turn into a dead 5 grand snake. just because it costs loads doesnt mean it wont die does it ?!?!?! not saying it will like but ya never know

saying that though i have spent over a grand on a few snakes and am off to buy a couple of new 'morphs tomorrow'

Venomous generally aren't that expensive anyway as the market for them is tiny.

But the point is that its no more likely that you'll lose a 5K designer royal (for example) than it is you'll lose a £50 normal royal because they are identical from a medical perspective and care requirement perspective. In that sense you're not taking any greater a risk with the 5K morph than you are with the £50 normal.

Furthermore, the cost of feeding and heating is much more expensive, relatively speaking, with the normal royal than it is with the designer morph. So whilst you can still sell on the babies and make a profit even with the normal snake, the designer gets you a much greater % return on your initial investment.
