Furthermore, the cost of feeding and heating is much more expensive, relatively speaking, with the normal royal than it is with the designer morph. So whilst you can still sell on the babies and make a profit even with the normal snake, the designer gets you a much greater % return on your initial investment.

yeh i agree with all that you say not arguing lol

just pointing out to people that think they can make a few quid by buying that 'new morph' it could go tits up!!!

if i thought eveytime i spent some money on a snake it would die i would never buy anythinga nd i would probably be sat here now witha common boa and a big fat wallet lmao.

I know its not the case for everything but i think alot of these 'investment' morphs are not worth getting in debt for with the hope of making any serious money especially royal morphs.

I remember seeing a spider royal for sale maybe four years ago for £16,000. So if you managed to keep it feeding and alive, managed to get it up to breeding size, managed to get it to breed and lay viable eggs then managed to hatch out any spiders successfully they are now selling for £800! it would take alot of babies to make your £16,000 back!

I think alot of the really expensive morphs are only money spinners for the people who first breed them. They will only release a few into the market and keep prices high. Look at albino boas. Even two years ago they were selling for over a grand now you can pick them up for under £400.

if i have millions in the bank id pay for some fiji iguanas . because they are absolutely beautiful though not because they are expensive.... but not for snakes..

i prefer lizards so thats probably why.. but some of the leos ive seen are a bit bizarre and look a little bit creppy.. but then im not a major fan of leos anyway.....

so yeah 5 grand for some lovely lizards id pay no problem
