It's a good job I'm buying rather then selling as I feel you are judging people for defending newbies now, I have spent the last few weeks since joining reading all about the antics of banned members whether permamently or temp ban and ALL of them were bona fide members,
and no I did not reply to get my post count up

If only you could have a feature that only counted posts made in the help sections...

That way someone who copies and pastes "nice snake" 100 times in the gallery section won't have the same post count as someone who offers advice 100 times in one of the other sections. By the time someone has made 100 posts in a help section, it's pretty obvious whether or not they are clued up on reptiles, and on their general approach / outlook to things. You can then make a judgement accordingly...

That only works if the person is a high poster. I am a genuine guy and have been a member almost a year now but I doubt if I have many posts in the help section as I won't offer advice on things I am not sure on, unlike a large number of people on here who like to have a say on everything.

Best way is to start a thread asking whether anyone has dealt with the seller you are considering. Ask for PM's so you don't get biased advice on the open forum.

wtf im not judging no1 all im saying is people on here moan about scammers but yet if a scammer reads this thread they will now know in order to keep going tehy just gotta get a higher post count how is that judging sum1 ?

i actually if you must know think its out of order accusing newbies of being scammers because really we were all newbies once. i wouldnt like to be a newbie and read this because id be scared to advertise things incase im acused of being a scammer. tbh i wasnt refering to newbies i was refeing to the thousands of people who just look on the site un registered who could read this thread and know they can sign up advertise stuff they aint got and scam people and tehy now know tehy just gotta get a higher post count for it to work i am not judging know 1 end of .

Ok Adam, that makes a lot more sense and I can see where you are coming from and i'm sorry if i read it wrong

My point is being a newbie and wanting to increase my collection of reps it's quite daunting as I do not know anybody on here and there's quite a lot of regular members that have been caught out or scammed, so what chance is there for newbies not be caught out too

the one thing that does annoy me on here is the way people are judged because of there star rating i mean what difference does it make seriously and it really annoys me as being a newbie myself when i joined here i felt very worried to even make a post awnsering questions

like now ive got 4 stars so what ive seen "newbies" come on here knwoing loads about reps people are just to quick to judge these days imo

i did not start judging new people until recently you can blame the scammers for that but i want to protect my money at the end of the day and if i have a bad feeling i aint going there why lose my money when i can buy from someone else or somewhere else

newbies r taking this way too personal this is nothing against you but the scammers on here only have between 30-80 posts if i looked at your past posts and all i seen was selling selling selling i would get a little worried

scammers have caused the doubt mate i am not a bad person nor do i judge people but this is the internet we know nothing about these people or you guys so it is a big risk

yeah i totally agree personally i wont buy an aniamls unless i can colelct it myself from people on the internet simply because tbh quite honest one thing ive leanrt is taht you cant trust nobody in this world ,i understand wot ure saying completely and my last reply wasnt aimed at you mate

As a newby, I wouldn't come on here and start answering peoples posts for help with anything.its just not done.Reading all the posts you get an idea of whos friends with who, who's best at answering which questions etc.So for a newby to come on the scene and start dishing out help and advice takes a lot of guts and confidence- I personally dont have either. Its not just us newbys though who can scam left right and centre so whats the answer? As has been said- collect the animal yourself- CASH ON COLLECTION- so that in itself has probably put my Rep keeping days at an end. A non driver living in the sticks, what chance have I got?

PS realise this whole thing hasnt been a direct pop at newbys but feel its hard enough to feel confident enough to post on a new forum without all this doubt about us starting up.

I am sorry you do feel this way but this is just my personal feeling that i worry buying now from new folk but Not all new people

That is what i stated in my original post only ones that i look at there previous posts all they have ever done is sell never post withing a short time

was not meant to offend anyone at all
