Well I am a newbie to this forum although I am a member of other forums and have been for years only came across this one by accident a few weeks ago and I do like it but like a lot of folk said it is hard to trust folk ,but me myself I would not buy anything wether it was equipment or reptiles unless I go and get it myself that way I can see what I am getting

just hard on here not many from scotland area so most times when i buy equipment i have to kinda trust that that person will send out the stuff but i am like urself if in glasgow or somewhere i can collect then i will do that

Hiya Buddy, I know your'e not getting at me or any other Newby, I think that were all feeling a bit vunerable with so many scammers around. Your'e so right who the hell can you trust nowadays? Last year I made a purchase on line ( Like I said I have no choice) from a well known Cham person, to cut a long story short even though this person had a great reputation the chams I got were a pile of shite tbh. Did he rip me off because I couldnt be there to see them myself? Who Knows?, I havent sold a great deal as I dont breed on a large scale,lucky for me all my buyers have been 100% great and I haven't had a seconds doubt about their keeping abilities. As a seller I welcome people into my home. let them see and handle all the animals, let them choose their own baby where possible BUT the most important thing I can do is DON'T RIP THEM OFF and ask them IF their Circs change would they offer the baby back to me for 1st refusal. I also offer a full refund or replacement should any animal die within a short space of time.
I am disgusted that these scammers have made it hard for us newbys to feel that we can fit into forums, that they come on here to use and abuse people. God their worse than any Anti Ive ever met.I would NEVER, ever rip anybody off because I have been on the receiving end and it makes you very bitter and mistrusting- to a point where you are downright suspicious and thats not good for the hobby. I wonder if breeders and ocassional sellers could all get together and make some sort of Code Of Practice which we sign up to, maybe have to pay to do so, run by somebody everybody trusts. Like the Kennel Clubs Acredited breeders scheme. This list of Trustworthy sellers could be made a sticky and then anyone wanting to buy can see who has what.

What you do jay is great i do the same people come in and pick themselves and i just hope they go to good homes but dont always work that way as i found out last week

i just hope not all newbies take offence

i think people need to start looking at previous posts ect and yes i 100% agree something has got to be done i have not seen so many scams in such a short time on any forum it getting like ebay you like to think you can trust everyone but just aint like that its a shame for people who r having to lose money to these or this loser i think it could be 1 person doing all this or 1 person is the mind behind it and they have a few friend helping out to use different ips ect

something has got to be done i have been lcky enough to have only been scammed once by someone on here but he did say he posted it waited 3 weeks and got refund through paypal luckily though i do think he did maybe send it do not know to this day the full truth never will

kjust hope people wise up to these losers

I rarely post on forums,(as you can tell by my post count!) but I have been a member for about a year and thought I'd add my tuppence worth. I've gotta say I've often seen things in the classifieds that I'd like to buy but have been put off by the members low post count. Unfortunately scammers seem to be all over the place at the moment and I dont think theres much hope in stopping them, no matter what changes are made I think these people normally seem to find someway round it.

i know caran hun it is just a pain in the ass as there are rumers that it is 1 person doing all this and if it is then god help him cos if the guys on here catch him i think it will not be pleasant

just ashame that people have to feel this doubt i never used to until very recently

someone should set up a 'go between' type company, where for a small fee both parties either make payment or send goods to them and when both are received the said company can pass on to the recipient and seller. I'd use it !

Why dont they put a max limit on everything? For example everything over £50 must be paid cash in hand and the person must collect it. I know it would be a pain for those that dont have any method of collecting but this is the only way i can see of getting through this.
I have to admit the people i have brought things off have been 100% and im very impressed but it just takes a couple of people to ruin it for everyone i suppose.
