because this is a forum to give people the chance to buy and sell, not a shop or ebay or anything that can set out rules and regulations. T-Bo doesn't take any commision from sales he just gives people a seperate area to advertise items for sale in one place rather than all over the place.

If you want collection only etc then you stipulate it in the sale

I sell quite a lot, but like its been said before a lot of people dont bother using the iTrader it should be made compulsory, i know this wont stop scammers but it might give a clearer picture of the people you are dealing with.we just have to bear in mind that not every one can be trusted.
Like little jay anyone buying from me is more thn welcome to collect, i know this is not always possable, but if you are buying and cannot collect ask for a land line number atleast, a good seller would give it to you.

I think like a fair few other animal forums that have a classifeds section .....a post count should reach a minimum amount for a forumite before they are allowed to use classifeds.. it would certainly seperate some of the scammers ..

some people ONLY come here to advertise and / or scam and often it is the ones with low post counts that do it...

i am on a hedgehog forum and you HAVE to have 200 posts to enable you to enter into the classifieds section.. i dont think its about rules...

t-bo has good rules on this forum.. so there are already rules in place elsewhere within RFUK. why not on classifieds?

i think this would be an excellent move by RFUK

maybe a suggestion could be made to t-bo and also see what the moderators think or feel...

The moderators have a section within RFUk to discuss ideas suggestions or problems.. maybe Oming one of them and asking if it could be discussed in the mod section also might be a good idea..

RFUK is now being subsdribed to by a lot of various forumites and a paid subsciption yearly i think.. one of the newer ideas.. and one that works

so I dont see change as a bad thing... it can also be good

you can bump your post count up in the off topic, picture section, introductions and R.I.P sections.
There's countless people who just post:


nice BD
nice viv
grate pics m8

etc etc

by going off post count you can still get stung. Even people have been stung by established members (a certain viv builder).

You take the rough with the smooth when buying anything and you need to think before buying. Look at their other posts and threads to see how active they are and then take the gamble. If you're not sure pay by Payal using a credit card.
what could happen is that t-Bo decides its too much hassle to allow people to buy and sell or he might start charging to use the classifieds to put scammers off... Although if you can make £100 a fiver to list something won't bother you..

Dont know much about scammers and never realised there was such a big problem on the forum. I hate it when the bad few eggs spoil it for all the other good people. guess thats the way it goes but it is a real pain.

I'm a newb and i came on here to sell my snakey cos someone told me the people on this forum are very passionate about their animals and my snake would certainly be guarenteed a good home. I would hate to think that someone wouldn't buy from me because im a newb. Anyone could scam new or old. Old members just may be building up to a big scam, who knows. (i am not accusing there!) I like the idea of checking their other posts to make sure they are genuine sellers and not scammers.

I have been on other forums for a while, having only discovered this one. But i am trying to get involved as much as possible so im not just some lil newb butting in XD lol.

I know it is hard to trust people you don't know, but if you play it safe like only agree to pick it up and pay when you have seen it will help alot ^_^. This has probably been said but i just wanted to put a lil bit of imput it in (however rubbish it may be.)
