Hi Guys

I have seen alot of adds recently in the classified and they are hatchling members like 34 post and stuff like that but these people never come on and advertise just 1 thing it is like 4-5-6 things already today have heard one i was sus about Alana1 turned out to be a scammer now another mika has been sussed out !!! aaaarrrgggg

i now do not consider buying from anyone with any less than like 100-200 posts dont ask why i just get the feeling that there is so many pf these scammers on here now there is a different one every week
and it is unfair that people put trust in people with very little posts and get conned it makes me very worried about who i buy from now

there is a few advertised the now that worries me but again i can not judge all people because of the scammers we have had and it is doing my head in.

i hate thinking bad but if i see someone with hardly any posts selling like £400-500 of stuff then i aint even going to go there

Can i ask what everyone else feels about this? Do you get a gut feeling when you look at posts? or is it just me ? (probaly) lol

Same here, if someone is selling something and i've not seen them around the forums i'll often check the posts they've made and other threads they've done.

I was going to put in a suggestion that the classifieds be limited to be able to create threads once you've been here for like a month and done so many posts etc but that could just mean scammers will do random posts for a month then try and scam so i don't think that would help either.

i know but its a pain in the arse like i just looked at alana's posts since she became a member now i would never have bought from her reason being every single thread she is selling something and has no pics in the space of a very short time she had like hundreds of pounds worth on each thread and she had loads

i am sorry for people who have been scammed it is so unfair but guys i think to protect ourselves we need to really look back on the people we are considering buying from i bet if half the people that paid her seen her past posts then they would have had that doubt and alarm bells would have sounded

we are a great forum but we need to work together sus these idiots out somehow and warn people dont ask me how lol it sound so easy but surely we must be able to do something.

as for so many posts in 1 month i agree that wuld not work i think there should be you can only advertise if you have so many posts and been a member maybe 6 months or so maybe thats a bit exessive but you know what i mean they aint going to stick around that long these people do this cos they want fast cash and we are leaving it wide open for them

Yeah a few months could work, i doubt most would stick around for very long.
I mean i understand the itrader thing is suppose to help a lot of this but you can't just not buy off someone as they haven't sold anything here before.

I only buy off people who have been on here for a while and i know they've sold before.

sorry to butt in on this, but I do get both sides, as we're still quite new to this forum, I do understand what you're saying about buying and selling from unknowns. but, we've got no itrader feedback because nobody has left us any feedback on bought or sold, but have been involved quite a bit recently. we are genuine and would never cheat anyone out of any money, and do look after all our animals.
and even though we don't post very often, we use the site for info and advice from other threads.

just felt I had to point out not all newbs are bad!!

Im a newby too and advertised the last of my Carpet Cham babies, because of scammers almost everywhere , thats why I put I know Im a stranger here but named folk who have seen the animals so that you'd know I was genuine. I could kill scammers. I mean as if its not hard enough trying to sell these days and makeing sure your animals have gone to great homes, to get scammers making it even harder is all we need.In all honesty its enough to put you right off breeding at all, thats how I feel anyway.

On the other hand i'm a newbie and I want to buy a few bits & pieces and I've noticed on here that a lot of the problems are not just from newbies, but from people who have built up their posts etc. then there's the guys that sold reps from a banned member.
So please don't judge all the newbies so readily.

this is what makes me laugh a lil though coz now scammers will come on here read this thread and just post on here to get post count up and then scam ya with higher post counts. youre just feeding them with the info they need
