Default Honesty!!!!!!

I was just wondering if this happens to many people on here.

I replied to a 'wanted' ad and was in PM with the poster, not just one but two different 'wanted' ads, everything was good.

One of the posters had me agreeing to deliver, for fuel costs, the 'thing' that they were asking for. I did offer the delivery.

They then told me that they had advertised in haste and had made the decision that they would not be getting what they had advertised for now as they thought it was not the right time to do so.

I appreciate that they told me they were no longer interested in what I had offered. It was an animal and I had not advertised it for rehoming at all but now they have a thread to say they are getting what they wanted now.

Why OH why did they not just be honest and either say, I was too far away, I wanted too much donation for the animal or the fuel was going to cost too much.

Honesty costs nothing at all does it???????
Honesty will gain respect in my eyes.

As it is they were obviously not the home that I would have wanted for my pet so he iwll stay here.
They would have given him a perfect home I have no doubt but if they could not be honest in the first place then I'm pleased he's not going there.

The other person I was in PM with, about a different animal, was very honest and told me his partner had put a deposit on a puppy of a different breed already without his knowledge.

Im guessing we are talking dog or puppy here?

If so unfortunately seems to happen a fair bit, I breed mini dachshunds and what gets me is the amount of people that go all the way through, pay a non refundable deposit of a couple of hundred and then they either have a change of mind and want the deposit back (not going to happen) or you just never hear from them after the first meeting.
I think people tend to rush into things too quickly and just dont think them through. Snakes included, had a few first time keepers return the snakes (I offer this when I sell them) because they are bored or want something different. We live in a buy it now culture.

I hadnt' advertised mine though I had replied to their thread and they were over the moon with him for two days. They'd had loads of pics and an honest description of a beautiful pedigree dog.
I explained how far away I was and offered to deliver if they really liked him.
They agreed to the donation and the fuel costs and instead of saying it was too much or they couldnt' cope with him or 'whatever' they said they had changed their minds about even having another dog.
I dont' give a fig about my boy not going, only the best home would have been acceptable and he's welcome to stay here forever if needs be, I just feel that if they had been 100% honest I wouldn't be in the mind that they are timewasters now.
They have gone and got an unneutered dog puppy to go live with an unneutered bitch so I'm wondering if they really wanted to breed their crossbreed bitch and werent' happy about my boy already being neutered.
I'm pleased I didnt' travel for nearly 4 hours, one way, to find they'd changed their mind!!!!!!
I may have been rather angry then and not just alittle peeved that people can't be honest.
Did they really think I would not read their thread aobut the puppy they had just been getting today?????
Anyway my boys in the best place at the moment and although he'd benenfit form a new home only the most perfect home will do for him.

I think i know what User you are on about and i think they are just jumping in looking for a small dog and not thinking about their own circumstances or those of the dogs either! Also if it is the user i think it is they posted that they work in a dog shelter!??! I would of thought they could re-home a dog from there??

I think fate has helped your beautiful dog out in a way and he is better off out of it but yea honesty should be there especially when your were going so far out of your way to help them.

It wasn't actually Stan I was on about.
Robstaine said straight away that they were too far away.
Another member was going to take him and then his wife told him she had put a deposit on a Dacshund so I was very happy with his honesty.
It was another 'wanted' advert I replied to.
I have a couple of long term rescue dogs here that I'm looking for the 'perfect' home for.
I'm not advertising them but if I come across someone advertising that sounds as if they may get really good homes then I get in contact.

I've now had a couple of people interested in Stan so hopefully he will find his perfect home to be spoilt in very shortly.

Stan can go with kids but I would, personally, prefer older kids. he is great with kids it's just I'm afraid in case he got 'broke' by over zealous youngsters.

I often shout at my other dogs when Stan plays with them......." Be careful you'll break Stanley!!!!"
