I think yes, but i got scammed from some one who had loads of posts and good feedback.

I think it would help to eliminate people creating new registrations to scam again.

The trouble is that we could alienate a lot of legitimate sellers, the scammers would just have to post some crap and wait a bit to do their deed. The scammers would then be almost more trusted, which could be worrying, just because they had beaten the system by posting "nice snake" say 100 times and waiting 90 days.. they would then have a free ticket as a trusted seller to scam away.

The problem I see over and over is that someone has sent money, often by bank transfer or other non-recoverable means, to a new member with no iTrader. I really cant understand why someone would send money to someone they dont know and that no one else on the forum could vouch for. Personally I would only ever buy in person in this situation, unless maybe it was for a minimal amount of money that I didnt mind loosing if the worse came to the worse.

This all being said, I am up for doing whatever we can to help protect buyers. We will discuss this suggestion and any other possibilities we can come up with.

We generally know straight away if a member has created a new account.

I do feel that something needs to be done but I'm not sure what that something should be. There are always going to be scammers no matter what is impossed.

I haven't been a member for very long but have sold a few things. I'm more than happy to give proof of address etc to anyone before money is exchanged. Maybe we as buyers need to do more ourselves to ensure we're not just giving our money away.

I am undecided about this. I tink it depends on what peope are selling. I have only over the last few months been part of this forum. I advertised my daughters Degu's for sale and the sale went very well. Although no money exchanged hands until the buyer had been to see them and at that point the transaction was concluded. How about people insisting on either COD or paypal. I personally would not part with my money until I had seen the animal and if this meant driving to see it and collect then so be it.

I joined this site to sell some rats I had, All the transactions I made then were in person.

I have bought 2 snakes off here since in a person.

I don't think I would buy if it was not possible for me to view the animal and pay in cash for it.

I nearly did buy something recently that would have involved paying by paypal and receiving them by post, but turns out I had a lucky escape. I only considered them because they had several ones that I would have been interested in and that I'm not having much luck finding them in my area.
