No one would want their details in their profile. Either have something on your profile to say that the mods have your details, or make it mandatory for all sellers to give details. If a user gets scammed then they have to request the name and address from a mod under the condition that they keep the details to themselves.

lol thats what i said juzza, they should be made to give their full details to a Mod/Admin. Then they can have that stored somewhere on the basis that should anything go wrong, the mods can pass details onto the relevant people as necessary. I wouldn't think that would be the scammed guy tho because that could lead to some unsightly news of voilence. Should be released to Police through an investigation into scams by the seller/buyer

i think the only problme with this is once a scammer now that this is all they have to do to then start scamming somebody t, they can sign up, go off and scam somewhere else for a while then some back after the 90day period or whatever and then start scamming, i cant remember from when i signed up but i think the mods or administration should request full details when siging up and something ridiculous like a mobile number for instnace that when you sign up you get an automated text messgae sent toyou phone that you have to reply to or enter a code on the website in order to conform you havent entered a bogus number. I just think the trust has gone out of society today just because of a minority of people out there that would prefer to take other peoples money instead of going out and legally earning their own

Problem there is, how cheap is a pay as you go sim card....2 quid? You can get 4 for a 10er in most shops that sell them now. At least with the classifieds section in order to be permitted to sell, you must give full postal, and return forms to prove you had them from that adress.

That way, i would hope BUYERS would perhaps be more trusting and agree to payment terms with the seller maybe as they know the site mod's have full details that would be needed for investigating. It will prolly never happen, time and money consuming, but it would be so much more effective then the other methods on here so far (although any method is better than 0!!)

Lol didn't see the last part of your post. But yeah, i agree handing over a users details directly to the police would be the best idea.

Ban the classifieds? or the whole forms to your home? I don't know. i remembered the womans name: rosie27. She was majorly respected i believe and made many friends, then she just decided today is the day to rob peoples money, sold same spideys to different people etc. And that is someone who had a lot of defence for the first week or so from other longterm site users from spidey section.

See the "pepper29" thread, some people think it's rosie27 scamming again.

As in all things in life you have to be carfull.
Only pay for something using a credit card or PayPal. These at least give some protection.
NEVER make a payment as "Gift" via PAyPal as you have no come back when things go wrong.

Rating systems are rarely relaible as people either do not give bad feedback when things go wrong, or when someones feedback is damaged all they seem to do is set up another account.
Maybe account creation needs to be tightened in some way to prevent multipal accounts.

Where possible it is best to go and collect the animal in person.
Then you have an address if there are problems and you can see how the animal was being looked after.

If you must buy something unseen then stick to sellers who seem to be trusted and have lots of good feedback.
