xbox chipping? who can do it???
as my title states i want 2 get a 360 chipped for a friend!!! I cannot post this in the classifieds as im banned!!!! Please can someone repost this in the relevant section or if possible PM me details of someone who chips xbox 360s in the stockport/Manchester area!!!!!

I'd be careful, i'm pretty sure modifying or 'chipping' consoles is illegal.

i do them and its not illegal to chip them it just voids your warrenty its illegal to sell the games

ELSPA says on here that it's illegal and I'm sure I've read a few articles about people being convicted of it. My bad if I've read it wrong though.

they have no grounds for moddifiying a console just the games as thats breaking the law you can get kits to do them from ne where and there are loads ov places that sell chips

if you have a modifeid Xbox360 and you gor on a game before it comes out or do anything to atract negative atention, microsoft can find out quite easily if its modded and if it is it will get banned from Xbox live.

Just because you can buy chips although 360,s arnt chipped they have a software mod, doesn’t make it legal. Sony prosecuted a "chipper" for helping circumventing copyrighted material.
Also as Byron says martindean's history on these forums is terrible so id avoid like the plague |

problem is now if you have one they can detect modified files if your on xbox live, the xbox files are basically scanned when you play, thus if your a modder it'll be picked up on straight away.
