was wondering how hard (or even if it could be done ) that the reptile for sale secton could sort stuff by distance like you can on ebay (eg find car parts within 25 miles from me) as i know some people travel hundreds of miles to get stuff but i find myself keep using route planner to see if its to far for me to go ?

I'd have thought it might be easier to just make it so that you have to have a VALID UK county and city listed in your profile in order to post classifieds ads... even if those valid details ONLY appeared in a classifieds ad and not on general posts.Making the "location" into a drop-down field where you have to select your county first (and if you're outside the UK you select "not in the UK" or some such and are able to type in your location - but you can't post classifieds ads) and then type in your city name or leave it blank... at least that would give everyone a rough idea of where people are, and if people don't want to give the precise town or city, fair enough - but they have entered their county.

On some other forums I use (for our other animals) when you want to post a for sale thread it goes first to the moderators who check it and if it's not done right - location, price, condition, age etc - it's sent back to you for correction before going back to them to confirm it's ok and then being posted in the classifieds....
