What a cute" little" guy?

Ok so these frogs start out small but grow extremely quickly and extremely big!
Having said that if you are prepared to be a good, caring, respectful pet owner they make wonderful pets. A gorgeous frog!!!!
The male grows larger than the female, so if you are not wanting to breed them buy a male :o)
They end up very cuddly looking and big.
Normally priced anything from 30 to 50 pounds.

These frogs have characters all of their own, something I find a lot with the larger species.
Because they are larger you can handle them more, though I would only do this if you know they aren´t hungry because they may mistake your finger as a scrummy snack.
Also for the frogs health and your own wash your hands properly before and after handling.
They are a substantial frog which give you something to hold, at times they can be verrrrry lazy and they will just sit and eat if given the chance.
You have to be sensible and care more about the health of the frog than it´s size so please don´t just overfeed it to show off to others like the idiots on YouTube.
They eat a wide range of insects (dust them with vitamin powder etc) and as they get bigger a pinkie mouse every week would be a good idea, though don´t over do the mice because of the fat content.
I have found that you can keep these in groups but only if they are all the same size.
If they are kept with smaller individuals they will eat them!
They don´t need an aquatic tank, just a nice sized tank (length 50cm at least) with a loamy, damp digging area and a tray of water (depth of water shoulder height of the toad).
The water must be changed every day and filtered water, no tap water.
The temperature should never go below 70 degrees or above 84 degrees...try to get a day and night time temp value. They don´t need overhead lighting unless you want a nocturnal bulb simply for viewing.
A tank placed where daylight cn get to it is more than suitable.
A heat mat under the tank where the soil is situated is a good idea BUT always have a substrate mat so the toad does not lay straight above the mat in case it gets burnt.
Keep your eye on hygiene, change the substrate when needed and clean the water tank/bowl frequently because they will poop in their water.

They don´t have teeth but they do have bone protrusions which are as good as teeth and they can hurt if they clamp down on you.
So handle with respect and be sensible.
Feed with rounded ended tongs so your fingers are safe.
Handle with clean hands so they do not pick up any food scents.
