I wasn't sure what to think of this product at first, it does look very plastic. In use tucked away in the corner of your viv though it looks okay.
My leo used this without hesitation and at times would stay inside it for hours at a time.
The top is prised of the main body of the stump and you fill the inside with moist moss. Your lizard gains entrance and exit through the opening in the top. There is a small plastic ladder supplied to enable crickets that may have fallen through the opening to climb up and escape. I never used this ladder as it encroaches on the space available for the lizard to get in and out of the stump.
The opening could maybe be a bit bigger as my leo is too big to use this comfortably now.
I bought this item in a sale for 50p so was definitely value for money for me, look around and if you can find one cheaply enough then buy one.

Once in the viv it looks better than an old plastic tub being used as a shedding aid.
The inside is reasonably dark so helps your leo feel more secure.
Has a large flat base so will not be knocked over.

This product was okay and did what it claims to do.
The one thing that i would change about it would be to make the entrance/exit hole larger.

animals love it, name a little misleading

This has always proved to be the favourite hide of any i've tried with my leopard geckos. Not sure if this is due to it being dark in colour, so darker inside during the day. However all of my leos love it and i'm hoping to invest in more soon :)

- Plastic is very easy to keep clean
- Lightweight with no sharp edges (unlike some exoterra caves i've had)

- Its very fake looking, but functions well
- I wouldn't really call it a shedding stump, more a hide. My animals hide in it but dont rub against it.
- Can pick them up quite cheap

good for shedding

We use these at my college for the leopard geckos, they are good value for money and do the job they are required to do, But i would rather pay a little but more and by a stone made one more sturdy, looks nicer.

I bought this product after buying much more expensive shedding boxes and not being very impressed with them, i am very pleased with this product is it made of brown plastic and its smooth so makes it easy to clean. it doesnt look as good as others on the market but i feel this has other pro's.
to use you take the lid off and feel with damp moss and put the lid back on simple. it does come with a plastic ladder but i dont use this, my geckos seem to prefer this stump to others double the price! would recommend i have now bought these for all of my leo's

smooth surface makes it easy to clean
there are no groves inside the stump so makes a good egg laying box
looks better than a tupple ware pot
is shaped to fit in the corner of your viv so takes up less room
geckos seem to love it

would like to see different sizes being made.
the way the lid is fixed, when you take the lid off it feel like you might break the studs that attach it.

Well well worth the money, a brilleant product and well worth buying for the leo keeper it realy does work a treat.
