These are one of the most beautiful yet easy to care for speices of stick insect which is very common in the UK pet trade. I have been told that males will fight if there aren't enough females (1 male per 3 females) yet this has never happend to me. They eat a wide range of food from privet, to lilac to honey suckle. Females measure around 3inches and males around 2.5inches, both male and female disply 4 beautiful red wings which are presented when the are scared, the wings aren't large enough for the insects to fly. Also when they are scared they spray a white smelling liquid which can irritate sensitive skin which is thought to be able to blind somebody if it contacts the eye, but nobody knows as it has never happend.
