Great Product!
| Installation and Operation |
This is a great product! Very easy to assemble and get working!
Once installed all you need do is flick the on and off switch, That easy!! As for maintenance , apart from changing the bulb (which I find myself doing alot!) and the occasional 'dust' it requires no maintenance at all.

i'd use something else

the product is very easy to install, take it out of the box, screw your bulb in, plug into thermostat, plug thermostat into wall, and away you go. really nice and simple to use.

the ceramic holder is great for holding high wattage lamps such as ceramics etc. however i have found with a few models that they tend to just completely stop working after about 6/8 months use, and non of the usual fuse changes really makes any difference. also when unscrewing bulbs a metal ring around the ceramic holder becomes brittle and may fall of, which could be a potential hazard if it falls into your reptiles enclosure.
other than that it holds the bulb steady and reflects light into the viv nicely so cant complain.

as far as many products go complete with reflectors i think this is very reasonably priced, however their temperamental nature and frequent ability to break doesn't make them that economical in the long run.

i've never dealt with Hagen directly, however when returning it to the store purchased from i've always been able to exchange it no problem.

the green glow from the light is one of the single most annoying things ever! if this is housed in a bedroom and you are easily disturbed by lights i would avoid this as it is quite bright, maybe not to friendly for Diurnal reptiles who want to sleep at night.
clamp lamp is fiddly and difficult to set up
the ceramic holder and the reflector get extremely hot and should not be placed inside of a vivarium where the subject may be able to touch it, would be nice to see custom guards for this model of lamp holder

Does exactly what it says on the tin!

If you were given this without a box/instructions etc. you would have absolutely no problems at all. Put a bulb in, position it in the place you want it, plug it in, turn it on, simples!

Works perfectly, the night time glo is effective and leaves a warm green hue over the basking spot for at least an hour which is more than enought time for most animals to settle down to sleep.

I have found this range to be quite expensive in some physical shops but it can easily be picked up for a reasonable price on the internet.

1. The GLO coating on the inside is worse than running your nails down a blackboard if you happen to catch them on it, perhaps thats just me!

A useful and essential bit of kit
| Installation and Operation |
Very easy to install with simple instructions making it easy to fit. An essential piece of equipment when using combi bulbs. With regard to maintenance, so long as you keep it clean it will last a life time. I have heard of people trying to use these inside the viv, and this is a big NO NO, as these reflectors get very very hot, unless you have a separate guard.

The product performs well and does exactly what it say's on the tin. It reflects the light and products the bulb a little. However it does get a lot hotter then I initially expected, so be careful

I only really have on negative regarding this product and that it the temperature it reach's, it gets incredibly hot and will burn on touch if you are not careful.

Good product - good value
| Installation and Operation |
Very easy to read instructions inside box. Very easy to install, simply dangle from hook at top of tank using fitting provided or clamp to side, put in bulb and switch on.

Really good!
| Installation and Operation |
It is reasonably easy to install this product all you need to do is put in the bulb and screw/place were you want the lamp and that's about it. When operating all you do is basically turn it on and off or attatch it to a timer and it will do it for you.

It is pretty good although if you use it inside a tank/vivarium you will need a heat guard round it as it gets really hot. I used it as a ceramic heater after I didn't need the lighting.

BRILLIANT!!Great dome reflector highly recommended

Very easy to install simply screw in the bulb, position the dome where you want it, plug it in and turn it on "Hey presto" Instructions on the box are very easy to read and understand. This dome is really easy to operate. The only maintenance is to change the bulb when they blow

This is a great reflector dome, and i think its currently one of the best on the market. I use it to house compact UV bulbs in for my amphibians, cresties, gargoyle and pygmy chameleons. I simply house this dome on the outside of my exo-terra glass vivariums on the mesh lid.
I can say it does everything that the manufacturer advertises it does

I thought it was very reasonable considering it has been well designed and put together. There are a lot of other dome reflectors on the market but i do rate these very highly.

3. The "glow" effect is great when you turn the light off inside the dome. Its great for watching treefrogs and cresties in the moonglow effect at night

The Glo Lights are Excellent

These are very easy to install wether your using them to hang from a hook, use them ontop of a mesh or use the clamp fitting to fix them into place on the side of a tank. I use these and these only when it comes to clamp lamps and wouldnt use another product

These are better than most of the others on the market. There readily available, fairly cheap and good used in a range of places. I use them for all my lizards spotlighting needs and also for my amphibians for UV compact bulbs. I also have two supplying UV and heat for my terrapin tank where they are great at making a basking and UVB spot using the clamp lamp fittings. Whether hanging off a hook or using the other fittings they meet all my requirements

Quite a good price although they can be more expensive than there competitors but normally if you shop around you will find a good price.

Ease of use and the adaptibility of these lamps are brilliant. The glow light feature on them is great adding an almost moonlight effect in the viv when the lights go out. The sizes available also make a great feature as they can be used for a variety of size bulbs.

I dont like the fact that exo terra dont make guards to fit these clamps. All the competitors make a guard to fit that clamps over but exo dont. Only letdown on a great product.

Superb piece of kit
| Installation and Operation |
Very easy to install, this reflector can rest on the top of a vivarium, or can be held using a stand. Can be used to just provide light, or to use a bulb that also heats. The inside of the reflector is coated with a phosphorescent material which glows in a fashion similar to moonlight once the light has been switched off, which is a nice effect.

Very good product. Protects the bulb from knocks and bumps, but also directs the heat down to create a basking site.

Very good value for money. Not only does the reflector ensure that the heat is concentrated downwards to create a basking site, but the glow in the dark aspect is also very good.

I like how easy it is to place on top of a vivarium, how well it reflects heat down to create a basking site, and also how the glow in the dark aspect of the reflector adds another dimension once the lights are off.

worth the money!

The product was very easy to install and the instructions were easy to read. It's just what I expected really as I've used these many of times the products - they're very easy to maintain as all they need is a quick clean when I clean my reps cages.

Brilliant but be careful!

This the first reptile lamp I had used and it was so easy to use I didn't have to use the intructions but it was reinsuring that they came with them. It doesn't need any maintenance a part from having to switch it on and replacing the bulb every 6-9 months.

Well to be honest I didn't realy look at anything else as I wanted exo-terra as they are the most popular and well trusted company out there, and me being a first time reptile keeper just went with the flow. But it does it's job.
