a great artificial sun
| Installation and Operation |
As all bulb, easy to install, just screw it in and the job is done.
|
| Performance vs. Expectations |
It's a great light, bright enough and still giving a warm glow rather than this ugly blue-white glow given by fluorescent lights. The animals seem to like it and are quite active since I have put that light. I have tried it on my bearded dragons and my tortoises and I would say it is a winner ^^
I haven't bought it for long but I just hope that it lasts as long as said

| Value for money |
As it's a basking light as well as a UV light, it's very economical. Instead of buying a basking light, a fluorescent light and starter unit as well as a dimmer, you just have to buy this light and a support and you save quite a lot of money. It is cheaper than its competitor, and this £30 bulb will last you up to a year.

Nice glow
combination of UV and basking light *very practical and ecomnomical*
Choice of 125W or 160W making sure that you can get a lower voltage which can be used in a vivarium. I would say that the 160W is quite strong and should mainly be used on open enclosures or tortoise tables.
|
| Didn't like |
I wish it could be put on a dimmer as I have to make sure that I open the vivarium every now and then to have the right temperature.
Make sure it's high enough from the animal...it's extremely hot and burns if touched (trust me on that -_-'')

A Great Budget MVB
| Installation and Operation |
These bulb's are very easy to install and the instructions are easy to follow. You just screw it into the lamp holder and adjust the height so that it is the recommended distance away from your animal and away you go!
|
| Performance vs. Expectations |
It performs better than i expected for a £30 MVB, The colour of the light i find more aesthetically pleasing than that from other MVB's i have tried in the past as it seems to give off a "warmer" light. The Bulbs themselves although made in china also seem to be less prone to overheating and physical damage when compared to the other MVB's i have used in the past. I have yet to find any real long term results on UVB output from these bulbs but my initial measurements all seem pretty good.

| Value for money |
This is by far the cheapest MVB i have found on the market from any of the major suppliers. As stated previously it has its benefits compared to other similar MVB's aswell especially if you are using them where they may get knocked or in reflectors where the competitors seem to overheat and cycle on/off.
|
| Liked about it |
The Price of these bulbs is their main selling point, they are in my opinion better value than the leading competitors. The colour of the light they give off appears to be warmer than that of other MVB's i have used and my animals seem to prefer this warmer light. Easy to get hold off, they are sold by pretty much all online retailers and most shops i have been to recently have them in stock even if they don't normally stock MVB's.

Reflective coating on the bulb itself seems to be a bit patchy and no two bulbs are ever alike, some have good coating and others have little blemishes, i think this is probably down to manufacturing tolerances and the fact they are made in china to keep costs down but this dosn't actually seem to cause any problems and they are still a great bulb in my opinion.

Worth every penny!
| Installation and Operation |
Very easy to install, just screw in, and off you go!
|
| Performance vs. Expectations |
Perfomed and excelled my expectations. Because the bulb is so big and powerful, it has a massive spread of light meaning lots of uv and heat can be given off.
|
| Value for money |
Worth every penny. Even though it may seem pricy when your just browsing through a lighting section on a website, it is cheaper than a seperate UV and heat bulbs, because you only need one normal bulb fitting, eliminating the need for a expensive arcadia lighting unit (if your using strip bulbs) or another normal bulb fitting.

Haven't had to deal with them.
|
| Liked about it |
1. UV and heat combined
2. Large area of light and heat provided
3. Easy to use
4. Is cheaper in the long run than seperate UV and heat bulbs

1. The bulb and its holder can get very very hot and could cause a nasty burn to you or your reptile if not guarded

Excellent value for money.
| Installation and Operation |
This product really couldn't be simpler to use straight out of the box. Simply screw into an appropriate holder (must be ceramic due to high heat output!), switch on and away you go! The instruction manual supplied is easy to follow and contains plenty of useful information and the best thing of all is that this is really a no maintenance required lamp.
|
| Performance vs. Expectations |
This product does exactly what it says on the tin, it's pretty much perfect as a combined heat/UV provider. My first lamp lasted approximately 1 year before it developed an occasional flicker. It was still emitting UV light but there was a marginal difference in output when compared to my new Exo-terra lamp. (Visual test as I don't yet have a UV meter). The lamps I've had have been pretty sturdy, have taken a few knocks during cleaning and still going strong.

Great value for money compared to standard UV tubes. Similarly priced if not cheaper plus the benefit of a much better UV output!
|
| Liked about it |
1) This lamp really brings out the color of my Uro's beautifully, even the "dull" female!
2) Great price and easily available.
3) Eliminates the need for seperate UV and heating.

No real bad points for me other than maybe they take quite a while to cool down after switching off. I have to be really very careful if cleaning out the viv shortly after the light has been switched off!

Definately worth the money
| Installation and Operation |
Easy to instal, simply screw in and switch on. Very easy to maintain and lasts forever as long as you do not put on a dimming thermostat, as this will simply blow the bulb.
|
| Performance vs. Expectations |
It performed well, giving off a good heat and UV output. I use it for my bearies in their large tank and find the 125W just right for temperatures :)

| Value for money |
I think its a great value for money. I'm yet to have one for a long time so cant compare what the uvb output is, but hopefully it'll also last longer than the tubes which are now recommended to being replaced every 3-4 months.

Lower wattage MVB means its able to be used for a wider range of animals, the really high wattage MVB's just roast them.
It seems to be giving off a good UVB source just now.
The bulb itself isn't too massive meaning it can fit in an exoterra medium bulb dome.
