can feed these to anything!
Comments
excellent livefood, helps pack the weight on for frogs and lizards, realy usefull for breeding weights as the waxworm larvae is full of fat.they last a very long time before they turn to moths and then you can breed them your self to get more waxworms or you can feed the moths themselves to your frog/lizards.great fun watching them chase moths about the vivarium!

Great livefood!

I really like Wax-worms. I find they are worth the money you pay for them, as you get quite a few in the tub you buy them in. They are very good for putting weight on any animal, my beardie relishes them. I think they are easy to handle and i don't feel 'afraid' as such, which i do with meal worms.

1. Value for money
2. Good for putting weight on animals.
3. Not bitey or anything, and can be easily picked up and given to your animal.

Has its advantages
Comments
A good little feeder for virtually everything. Usually (where I buy them from anyway), 50 of them come in a plastic tub about the size of a satsuma and are packed in wood shavings. I have reared mantids to adult on just these and they've been fine (although a varied diet is always important!) and my frog loves them :). However, these are moderately easy to breed! - just watch out if you leave the moths around as the caterpillars are dinky and escape really easily

Great feeder insect
Comments
Very high nutritional value and will quickly increase the weight of your reptile. However this should really on be fed as a treat. Easy to store and maintain and last for a while. When they pupate and hatch out feed the moths to your reptiles too.

Reptile chocolate.
Comments
A good treat for reptiles, but definitely only a treat. Very fattening and they don't move too fast. Easy to keep. I've heard of animals getting addicted to these and won't eat much else, so be careful.

Slow moving, easily picked up.
Fattening, good for underweight animals.
Easy to look after.

Didn't like
Reptiles can apparently become addicted, it's difficult to get them to eat anything else if they eat these a lot.

GREAT WORMS
Comments
These great worms for reptiles as a treat as are fattening great for pregenant mothers (i mean reptile mothers lol) , one of the best types of worms only 1 drawback is that if they are given in excess then reptiles can get addicted to them but other than that theyre great

Liked about it
Very fattening , relatively cheap , instead of for instance phoenix worms which are quite expensive , last ages as in they live long , they can be put in the fridge so they dont go into moths ,will almost definetly get a animal that isnt eating to eat :D
|
Didn't like
I can only think of 2 drawback of these fat little worms , 1. that the turn into moths if not put in fridge / eaten , and that reptiles can be come addicted to them and it is extremly hard to a reptile to eat something else if they are addicted to these worms .

-Wax worms
-Wax worms are really good for getting the weigh up on reptiles that are underweight or just as treats for reptiles/amphibians
-They are roughly £2 a tub and you normally get about 50 in a wee black tub with a yellow lid the tub also has wood shavings in it as 'substrate' (these are the ones in wood shavings)
-You should be careful how many waxworms you give your reptile/amphibian as they are very high in fat and you do not want your reptile/amphibian over weight.
-I personally give my reptiles ,amphibians and turtle a shared tub each month or two.
-also if you have reptiles/amphibians that are arboreal or like something different, buy a tub of these and put them in a clear jar/rub and instead of a lid use tights(woman's tights)as a lid them leave them and after a while they will do a 'cacoon' like thing on the ground then they will turn into moths.
-They are great for an occasional treat but never feed these as a stable (pure) diet.

Excellent fattening up food
Comments
Wax worms are a great treat for your lizards they love them but be careful as they are very fattie having said that they are a great source of food for problem eaters i have rescued many lizards and rehomed after getting thier health back to as it should be and i find wax worms are ideal for getting underweight lizards up to weight and easy to hand feed to problem eaters also if they turn to moths i find that most beardies love chasing the moths around the viv gives them some exercise and a nice tasty treat at the end of it
