Curly Tail Lizard
|
The Curly Tail Lizard has the correct name as its tail curls over its back. They are a small species growing to 100-180mm (4-7 inch) and can be found in Peru, the Caribbean and Cuba.

Active little lizards

My review is for the Haiti Curly Tail lizard.
Taking care for these lizards is pretty easy, you need a suitable size viv (2' for a pair will be fine) with sand as a substrate, UV and basking light and live food (crickets and roaches are the best but mealworms will be fine as well).
They are very active in the viv and will run around all day long bobbing at each other.
When their lights go off they will burry themselves in the sand until they'll go on again in the morning.
There is no interaction with these lizards at all, they will run away when you come close to them.
It's very easy to distinguish males from females, males have bright red marks along their body and on females these marks are dull brown.
They are quite small and pictures don't show it very well, they are shorter than leopard geckos and are less bulky.
