Good little thermostat

Very easy to install but you have to fiddle around to find the right temperature because it doesn't have a temperature gauge, just higher temp and lower temp.

Works suprisingly well but I was quite dissapointed that it didn't have a temperature indication next to the gauge.

Good value for money however, it can only be used with heatmats on very low wattage ceramic bulbs because the maximum load is so small.

OK for the price

It is as simple as it gets to operate and use. once set up it can be left to run with very little adjustment.

It performs as I would expect, it is nothing fancy and nor does it claim to be. It is a standard mat stat and as such functions quite well. I would have liked a little tighter tollorances on the temp settings

This is a good value basic stat which will be more than adequate for the basic set-ups.

The stat has a basic on off function which is ok for non temperature critical opperations. Due to the on off operation the temeratures can fluctuate by 4-5 degrees, this is OK if the temperature setting is in the middle of your animals range, but if you are running hotter may cause a problem.
It also has short leads which can sometimes be a issue.

Does its job but could be better

Installation is easy enough with this stat, plug it is put the probe in the right place and set the temperature, but its setting the temperature that is a bit more difficult the turn dial for the temperature is recessed so i find i have to get a precision screw driver to turn the dial, which is a bit annoying and fiddly.
However that could be seen as a good point if you have children around as it means they can knock the dial by accident

It does what its meant to and keeps your temperature correct, but i found that it takes abit longer to get the temperatures set up correctly in the first place because of the lack of turn dial.

Overall this is value for monday its the cheapest stat habistat do, it works, it lasts, unless you want to be really picky about it, then value for money you cant go wrong with this stat.

it is smaller than habistats other stats, so doesn't stand out so much

lasts a long time and you get a good warranty just in case.

the bold white block is still not very appealing on the eyes
the recessed turn dial for adjusting the temperature is too fiddly.
doesnt have a digital display to adjust temperature.

Cheap and cheerful

As with most habistat thermostats they are easy to instal and get going. This one is no different. It requires little maintainence when operational.

It turns the heatmat off when it gets to hot and turns it on when getting cooler. Pretty simple performance but does it well. Can fluctuate in temperature but nothing to bad. This is due to the thermostat being either on or off.

Good value, if using a heatmat these are cost effective in ensuring your reptile is safe. The item compares well with others in the market for both performance and cost. When using heatmats I will always use a Habistat matstat thermostat.

Pretty decent

The product comes with basic instructions on how to set up the thermostat. Very basic installation, as long as your temperature probe is in the correct place you will be fine.

Does what it says it will - regulates the temperature of your heat mat.But since this thermostat is a simple 'on/off' thermostat, meaning to maintain the desired temperature it simply turns the heat mat of and on when appropriate (which is indicated by a green light on the thermostat)you can get undesired temperatures (sometimes up to 4C to high). Although this is very rarely an issue.

Very good value for money, this will keep you at piece of mind that your reptiles will not be burned in the case your heat mat ever develops a fault. Considering these can be bought as cheap as £20 it is an essential for any enclosure using a heat mat.

. Sometimes I have had my temperature rise from 32C to 35C when i have been out of my home.

Easy to install, though the gauge is quite fiddly.

Debatable: keeps the set temperature at a constant, it also cuts the heat or turns the heat on to do this.
The gauge is very fiddly, you have to have very sharp nails or a screw driver on hand to set the temperature.

Easy to use and well worth it

This is worth every penny. i was finding it difficult to maintain the correct temp for my baby gecko, it was either too hot or too cold. within an hour of setting it up(plug in, turn the dial..so simple) i had the correct temp, had it a few weeks an its great. my gecko is out alot more an is eating much more.

it performs well enough for reptiles that can tolerate small temperature increases and decreases but really isn't spot on.

As usual habistat delivers, I have 2 of these and wouldn't use anything else, the only bug bear I have with these is that it is either on or off but then you know that before you buy it.
